I'm rather surprised no-one has mentioned Adam and Eve yet or did they?

I think it was alluded to but not mentioned directly...I can't recall for sure, though.

well actually it was alluded to, and then flamed, which is why I don't think anyone else brought it up...

Dang...I shouldn't have read this thread when I was tired the first time, I'd have been glad to bring it up again. There is an invalid (genealogy terminology - "not validated by official documentation" not "wrong") genealogy in existence that goes back to Adam and Eve. Obviously, it is often discredited, primarily on the grounds that there's no official documentation. (Like Mitsuki mentioned, most genealogies dive into "mythology" once they reach a certain point; those of us with Norman-Viking heritage veer into Norse mythology while many others of us with other European heritage veer into various Middle Eastern mythologies, including Christian mythology. And before I'm misunderstood or flamed, I should clarify that I use "mythology" in the anthropological sense, not the fairy-tale sense. It's just a habit I developed in college.)

If anyone is curious, I can dig through my files and find the copy I have of the Adam-Eve descendancy chart. I came across it while I was researching my family history because of a common descendant/ancestor, and I kept it on file for future reference. Just send me a PM, so that this thread doesn't go too off-topic. :) It might take a while for me to find, because my listing of files for my family genealogy is quite massive, and saved on several disks.

I think I brought it up; I don't remember getting flamed, though. Hmm... I was more joking than anything else. Sorry if I made people nervouse (or nervouser if one is a David Eddings fan).

Being one of those people who do take genealogy seriously I know how hard it is to simply verify lines as far as the early 19th century can be,let alone to get anything as far as the 16th century verified. This is a reason why all those genealogies that supposedly go back to Adam and Eve are always to be taken with a grain of much salt.
