haha...no. i didn't 'practice' it. I did have to record the list three times 'cause i was having recorder problems, but I finally got it right. if you call that practicing yes. :p but yea. i'm not sure why you say that, but it's ok.

I just said it because of how fast you read the list. What recorder are you using anyway? You mentioned that it only recorded for 40 seconds.

it's called Advanced Sound Record(yea i know..so unique of a name). it works very nicely, but only records 40 seconds unless you buy the full program. I used to have another sound recorder that had no time limit(although the program was annoying), but apparently I deleted it. dunno.

You could download the one that W4C recomended at the beginning of this thread. It allows you to record a grand total of 18 hours for one recording, though I'm not sure. Plus, it's free.

I'm pretty sure the limit is only determined by home much free disk space you have...

no, it's not very strong, but you can hear it come out on southern words. Especially like "yall", "Georgia", etc

Right. We finally got a microphone in my house so its my turn to tackle this extensive list! This post is just a promo: I'll post a link to the file when I've actually recorded my kiwi accent. :)

Here's my kiwi accent (I've been told its not a particularly strong kiwi accent... but then again those people have been kiwis so I can't be sure).

What's up with the music? o.o

Interesting accent. Never heard a kiwi accent before. Sounds cool. :3

By the way, I dunno if maybe it's the accent or what...but you totally do NOT sound 17. Like, if I didn't know how old you were and I heard that, I would think you were in your late 20s or so. Seriously.

Why thank you. :) Yes, there are only 4 million or so kiwis so our accents aren't particularly prevalent.

Really? I think I do speak differently when I am trying to speak clearly... perhaps that had something to do with it?

EDIT:

 Then again, perhaps sounding older was due to the classical music. ;) Thanks, W4J.

Top marks! The music for list 2 is from the BBC Narnia series!

Nope, it's definitely there. ;)

I also think you do sound more mature than 17. Cool voice!

As a kiwi, do you think everyone else pronounces stuff funny?

Mostly not. We get so many Australian and American shows and advertisements on television that its weirder hearing a kiwi voice on TV if it isn't the News. Seriously. Also, I have a lot of friends who weren't born in NZ.
On the other hand, if someone has a very strong accent or one I haven't heard before, it can take me a while to get used to. I do think Californians and those from the Southern states pronounce things funny, but I also like their accents. ^_^

EDIT:
You did the Audible Emotes yourself, MSq? I think its awesome and wasn't sure if you'd done it yourself or found it on the internet. :)

That recording was most definitely done by me. As W4C said I really enjoy doing little random recordings like that. If you want I can put the others recordings I did back up. (I think they're alloted time on YouSendIt ran out)
