I just went about it as any other day. I didn't notice anyone around me really getting all gushy gushy about it either so I wasn't really thinking about it too much. One day I'm sure I'll actually be able to celebrate Valentine's Day but I've never made a big deal out of it and I hope my future girlfriend/wife won't either.

Yay. Im glad there are so many people who share this same problem. *I can't believe how fast this thread shot up.* I agree with some of you guys on the comerciallism about it. First off, I'll say I am indeed single and not really looking because at my age there really isn't a point.
Second, why are these 'idiots' I keep hearing about rubbing the fact that they've got girlfriends/boyfriends in everyone elses faces?

Yes, Steeltemplar it was intentional as is possible. But thankfully it doesn't happen now (was more a High-school thing).

I was sick on V-Day so.... o_o I'm kinda indifferent.
Personally, I like buying my friends some candy or a cute plushie cause it makes me happy to make people happy. (I know... i'm cheesey...)
I suppose I'll have to wait for 'Mr. Right' as well before knowing what a 'real' V-Day is supposed to be like. ;D
u_u But seeing all the couples walking around does make me feel lonely though. *sigh* ::eats homemade heart cupcake in corner::

When I say rubbing it in your face I mean they like to sit there and project it to the whole world and it makes me sick. Ok people I work in a grocery store and there are people who come through and makeout with each other while waiting in line. Now doesn't that sound just like a romantic date to you. Ok sweetie lets go make out in the grocery story. It makes me sick.

I can understand that. I'm not a fan at all of people making out in front of me. Not because I'm single, really. Especially when they're in a line that I am in or, worse, when I am the store employee that is currently helping them. Just because that's....you know....personal.
There are, IMO, acceptable displays of affection. Handholding is fine. An arm around the shoulders or waist is also fine to me. A kiss on the cheek would be pushing things, but can be done tastefully. More than one kiss is not on my list of acceptable. So you can see where the line is drawn. Basically, I would just ask people to imagine what looks sweet and what looks too personal.
If people are in love, though, I am happy for them and they can show it within those acceptable limitations. Sure, the grocery store isn't a romantic date. But why do you need to reserve affection for romantic dates? Especially if it's a married couple. They are living a whole life together and the grocery store or whatever is a part of that. If they're happy to be married, then I'm all for that. We need more people who are serious about marriage in this country. There are too many divorces and too many unmarried people living together.

I think if you love someone so much that you want to make out then you should really get a room somewhere so you can do it in private.People who make out all the time in public just simply disgust me because it is so embarrassing to watch.

In my experience its usually a couple of youth around my age thats doing it. Don't missunderstand me theres nothing wrong with showing affection in public; but theres point when it becomes alienating to everone around.
