Yes and all these Sioux puns will probably land us in the biggest doo doo since

Well I definitely believe in bears-holding-sharks. I was actually chased by one once while walking through the forest on my way back to the abbey.

To be serious, the reason why people rarely see Bigfoot is that you have to get really into the wilderness areas and even then so far back that you would have to be hiking into really deep forest. Also it could be that like most forest creatures Bigfoot may tend to be nocturnal.

I don't know there have been some NBA players that had fairly large feet.

I've taken all of this as I can. I'm not finishing the rest of the topic right now...

STOP USING SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE AS AN ARGUMENT! IF THE EARTH HAS ONLY BEEN HERE 6600 YEARS, THERE WAS NO ICE AGE! YOU ARE BASICALLY SAYING YOU BELIEVE IN EVOLUTION AND SCIENTIFIC CRAP AND THE BIBLE IS NOT TRUE!

Thank you. I needed to get that out. Regardless, IMO, if people have been seeing things for this long, there has to be SOMETHING there (Yes, they have been seeing the Loch Ness Monster) for many years...more than just the 1900s.

That isn't true, it is perfectly possible to believe in an old earth and be a Creationist. I can use whatever evidence I want. Don't start needless debates.

Regardless, IMO, if people have been seeing things for this long, there has to be SOMETHING there (Yes, they have been seeing the Loch Ness Monster) for many years...more than just the 1900s.

I disagree. There have been children who swear they have seen Santa Claus, for years. Yet you and I know Santa doesn't exist. People are perfectly capable of hallucinating.

As far as your claim that people have been seeing something in Loch Ness since before the 1900s...

Rumours of a monster or animal living in the loch are claimed by believers to have been known for several centuries, though others have questioned the accuracy or relevance of such tales, which were generally unheard of before the 1960s, when a strong wave of interest in legitimizing Nessie's 1930s-based history began.

In other words, it wasn't until AFTER the fact that people started saying "Oh yeah, there's legends and stuff!" Mysteriously, these legends weren't mentioned before then...how convenient (or not).

Since when does human time make a difference to God? Earth created in 7 days? What's a day to God a 24 hour human one? Let's not limit God with things like that. 6 million years means nothing to God. It's perfectly plausible that the Earth could be 100 billion years old or 6 million and still be biblical. Science itself is not in any conflict with God I mean he obviously made this universe, everything in it, and all the laws that govern these things. Human science at times yes but don't point the finger at someone every time they use science to back up something.

We humans are superstitious creatures. We like to exagerrate and fib things to make ourselves feel "special" or for attention. Saying because "many" people have seen, did, whatnot something means there must be some truth to it means about as much as saying that water is wet. Someone could tell me till their blue in the face that the moon is made of cheese, their Napolean incarnate, and they can dig a whole to China with a plastic shovel but it doesn't make it true.

So we should just make stuff up instead? It's probably a lot easier anyways.

IMO, if people have been seeing things for this long, there has to be SOMETHING there

And that's how we know that witches are real too.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

I bet $20 that this degenerates into a Creation vs. Evolution argument...

I also bet $20 that a mod will come in to discourage that within a page or two...

Anyhow, as to the ACTUAL topic. Well, I admit I've found "cryptozoology" somewhat interesting in the past. But, I find such "mystery animals" to more likely exist in the jungles of Africa than in the American Northwest where someone should logically have found proof if something(especially a large mammal) was indeed living there.

Destoryer: If you can't take it, I suggest leaving the thread rather than beginning a debate.

Technomancer: Be nice!

MD: You should know that all money exchanged on this site goes into my pocket. That'll be 20 board-bucks.

I think this topic has pretty well outlived it's usefulness. I'm going to close it now before people start bickering and getting snippy with each other.
