Spiders...

Postby Slater » Tue Feb 14, 2006 11:49 pm

Spiders are definitly one important part of God's creation... yet seeing them makes my skin crawl. Just seeing a picture of one makes me feel like one is crawling up my leg or like I'm being hunted... They're freaky, Ninja!

Anyhow, post some piccies of them if you got them. Share the ph33r...

Although I hate spiders I'll admit they are in their own way fascinating and beautiful.... from a distance. If any of those spiders were to come into this room right now I'd jump out the window and never come in again.

I'm with Sakura. I'm not a fan of spiders.

Except maybe Spiderman. He's cool ;)

Friendly spider?

Human: Oh, hello my spidery friend.
Spider: <salivates>
Human: Sometimes I think you just love me for my blood.
Spider: <evil grin>

Okay, so not all spiders will bite humans for blood. Some do, though.

I really don't like spiders, but since no one else is posting anything, here's one I think everyone has seen.

Not a spider, but doesn't the Tachikoma look rather spider-like?

Spiders are cute enough as long as you don't zoom in at them :P

I love the Tachikomas. They're so cheerful all the time, even when unloading massive death and destruction

I have grown immune to the sight of spiders (not their venom, of course). That is because my room is full of them and I can't seem to get rid of them all.

Yes.

Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

During the summer wolf spiders crawl across the floor of my office in the garage I work in.
I will wait for them to stop and I will use a pole or broom to make a noise behind them and watch them spin their legs trying to get traction on a waxed floor. I make them go somewhere else after awhile so I don't have them crawl on to or into something close to me or I might take home.
Some of the people who work in the garage might see one and step on it and leave it there on my floor. I hate having to clean that.
I found a red mark on my leg one time and went to my doctor and he said it was a spider bite. I had a time trying to figure out how I got it.

Spiders are abundant in the Land Down Under. I hate the things with a vengance, especially the big hairy ones and red back spiders. Ugh! I do find insects interesting though, just not spiders.
