Laughing, of course (but he's LOUD, and the dogs sing along). He's also a bit of a runt as kookaburras go -- about half the size of the bruiser wild variety -- but for a bird of prey he makes a surprisingly good pet. He knows who his mob is and the dogs don't bother him, and he likes being petted. He'll actually come over and watch what we're doing, and he chatters when Mom is working in the kitchen.

The downside is that he eats live mice. Mom chooses to do something else when Albert is being fed. He'll eat worms and insects, and sometimes raw meat depending on his mood, but he definitely prefers live mice.

Yeah, they love mice. But also skinks (little lizards), small snakes and small birds. Pretty much anything living. It's quite satisfying to see vermin (like mice) eaten by something.

Wouldn't be fun if you had a bad day or something, and then all of a sudden this bird is laughing at you :/ I swear once this seagull was laughing at me! Just the tone of it's voice *shakes fist* I still don't know what they have against me :/ They're beaks are sure sharp though cause one bit me when I caught one that had a broken wing :/

*cough*

No, his laugh isn't the "boy, don't YOU SUCK!" laugh -- it's more of the "I'm kookaburra, hear me roar" business.

We did have a parrot who laughed, and that was annoying sometimes. It was a real human laugh, since he mimicked it from somebody. However, he also laughed appropriately at jokes, too, so who knows. ^^ (Okay, maybe he was just laughing with everybody else, but I like my explanation better because he was *my* bird!)

Maybe fetch a blanket and drape it over your back. Outstretch your arms (with the corners of the blanket in each hand) and 'glide' through your house and give your mum some 'sugar.' Then she will get excited and give you a sugarglider! (okay that was random)

You're not gonna like this, but... Get one when you're an adult and have your own place. :)

YARG. no.

i figure, if colleges allow small mammals, then im gunna get one now so it gets used to me- and then take it to college.

that way like.. my mom just hasta cope with it for like.. a couple months. or something.

Well, many of them do allow short students, so other small mammals should be acceptable. Make sure, though, that you find a college without a minimum height requirement as it will be much harder for your small mammal to cohabit there as well.

But wouldn't it be hard for him to take the SATs?

I can't believe the post I wrote. I must have been drugged (with chloroform or something) and forced to write it.
*leaves in embarrassment*

I think taking a sugar glider to college isn't the best move. They need lots of tree branches and stuff to climb on and live in and I don't think a college would provide that. Wait until you have your own place. Sorry Chibiphonebooth! (It's for the best).
