Will Ed and Al ever get their bodies back? I have to ask...
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

[Pink Floyd fan listening to Queen and hugging trees which is also known as taking care of God's creation with a pair of headphones on listening to Nightwish as loud as possible while writing a novel on a computer in the middle of a field filled with Wolves.]

Major end of series spoilers:
Ed will get his body back, because Al sacrifices himself to bring Ed back from the dead, using the Philosopher's stone. Ed in turn, brings Al back, but Ed is sent to the Alternate Reality(Our Universe) behind the gate. The FMA Movie continues where Episode 51 leaves off.
I have spoilerized the post concerning the major spoilers. For the record, the vBulletin tags function as follows but without the asterisks:
[*spoiler=spoiler topic]spoiler text[/spoiler*]

Somewhat randomly, I saw this episode, so I can answer Tom Dincht's question:
Evidently you missed a fair portion of it. Scar loses his other arm when he essentially transfers the transmutation circle on it to Al. That is what results in the Philosopher's Stone being made inside Al. Scar is also shot pointlessly protecting Lust, after which he loses blood for a while before dying and evidently activating the giant transmutation circle.
No, I saw all that. This is what I saw:

I saw up to the first commercial break. When it came back I just saw Al just standing there with the philosphers stone inside of him. The last i saw of Scar was him lying down when the Transmutation Circle was activated.

What I liked about the ep.was that Ed finally confronted Sloth and she finally revealed her true nature to him.
When Scar lies down before the circle is activated, there was a very brief shot if him essentially dissolving into alchemical energy. It would have been easy to miss, but there's very little doubt that he's dead. Furthermore, every human body in the area got converted into the Philosopher's Stone (like the previous one was made), so he's definitely gone.
So he did get dissenegrated. I didn`t put it in spoiler tags because I didn`t say who he is.

"He" was pretty useless anyway since her arms were gone.

The fight between Ed and Sloth was pretty good. They should of added more though to the fight and the eventual demise of Sloth. Sloth's recollection at the end was pretty interesting though, one of those self truths.

Scanlation links are a liability, Necrosage, so I'll have to clip yours. PM him if you want the link.

I expected a bit more out of this chapter, really. It has been some time since I read it, so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I had anticipated more plot development. In any case, I'm rather glad that it looks as though Ed and Al are staying - I would have been annoyed if they were going to run away without further explanation.

The man with the beard and long blonde hair is Al and Ed's father Hohenheim Elric.
It appears to be some how connected to Dante.

Starwarsboy90: I am aware you have seen the FMA movie.
Answer in spoiler tags please.

1) Who is the overall main villian?
2) Does Ed and Al`s father pose as evil like in the manga?
3) How long is the movie?
4) What`s the name of the movie?

Actually, ML, from my current knowledge of FMA, Hohenheim is his last name and him and Trisha were not married.

Hohenheim is not "Father". I believe Hohenheim is Father`s clone.

Tom Dincht, are all of your questions for the movie?

mitsuki lover wrote:The man with the beard and long blonde hair is Al and Ed's father Hohenheim Elric.

That depends upon if you are following the anime or the manga. In the anime, you are correct. As for the manga:
Both Hohenheim and Father look the same, but one is the Elric's father and the other is the master of the homoculus, maker of the Philosopher's Stone, and possibly a part of the Gate. Father insinuates that he created Hohenheim. Dante does not exist in the manga.
Well, yes and no....as UC said, it depends on the source:

I'll throw these up just in case....
In the manga, you are indeed correct, he is Van Hohenheim and he and Trisha were not married.

In the Anime, however, to my knowledge nothing like the above is ever insinuated so we can assume he's Hohenheim Elric and he and Trisha were married.

Actually, in the episode 'Mother' I believe some letters to Hoho were shown. Let me double check that ep and see what they have his name as.
Update: I just check the episode I mentioned before and his name actually does appear as "Hohenheim Elric" in the anime.

I can actually answer some of these....
1) The Villains in the movie are the Thule Society, a secret organization that had ties to the nazis. There actually was a Thule Society in history, check the net for more info. Their leader, I believe, was a woman with blond hair by the name of Dielente Ekhart or something like that. The name is slightly off, but you get the gist.

2) No

3) Normal feature length. 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours.

4) Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shambalah
Also, I read in the latest Anime Insider that Funimation is starting up a motion picture branch and is going to bring some of the DBZ movies to the big screen. With this in mind, if it pans out, we may have a good chance of getting the FMA movie in theaters as well. We can only wait and see.

Since we are talking about the anime it would be that version of the series. They make it clear that Hohenheim(anime)is the father since that's the name he is called and Ed refers to him as his father.
From the last ep.it is clear that in the anime neither Hohenheim nor Dante is the true master or mistress of the Homonuculi.Dante mentions her "master" which seems to imply that there is a yet to be seen personage behind it all.
Would it be correct to assume that the reason why Dante was spending so much time with Rosa in Lior was that she needed her body for her next host?

Actually, the whole 'Master' thing would be because Dante was trying to hide her true identity and thus continued to pretend to be Lyra. Why else would the Homunculi bow to her when she and Rose arrive, or Wrath's extremely nervous reaction before the doors open. In this persona, he doesn't seem to be one easily scared.

As for Rose's whole role in this game, just wait and see. ;)

I'll admit I'm vaguely curious as to how the Fullmetal Alchemist anime will end as I watch it on Adult Swim. However, as a whole I am disappointed with the anime and far more curious about the manga.

R. Zion wrote:Also, I read in the latest Anime Insider that Funimation is starting up a motion picture branch and is going to bring some of the DBZ movies to the big screen.

Hm. I wouldn't think those would do very well, as the DBZ fervor has mostly died off and the movies certainly aren't four star material on their own.

FMA would do okay in theatres but DBZ movies...the only ones that I thought were above average were the Cooler ones, the rest were mediocre.

Jeez..I hope Rose isn`t evil 0_o.

Your guess is as good as mine, but from what I heard at work: (Yes, there are anime fans that work for Sprint PCS)
Al sacrifices himself to save Ed, who then, in turn, sacrifices himself for Al...go figure!
I do have one question though...
How did Pride manage to have a kid? Isn't he a homonoculious (Forgive spelling, but it's Sunday afternoon and my brain is MIA) :P
Khaki's coworkers are in the know as far as the ending.

As to the Furher's son, Selim:
I forget where it was...whether in the manga or just in fan chatter...but I heard that Selim was adopted.
And poor Ed Heidrich, crushed by zepplin. We knew ye....not so well.

BTW, for those who have read Manga Chs 56 and 57, since we haven't discussed them....what did you think?
