computer building help neeeded!

i have a compaq presario that was brand new in 2003 but the cd drive didnt work so i left it alone for a long time. I brought it back up and i pressed the power button and it does not turn on! So i am thinking can anyone help me if not i am going to get the parts of this very good computer and put it in my other computer

Given you're talking about a Compaq, that's your best option.

But if you insist, pop open the case (obviously while the machine is off :p) and make sure the power connector is plugged into the CD drive.
