LOL! Whenever my friend comes back from Canada, all of the sudden, everything is, "Like, ya know, eh?" Of course, they pick up her accent, so it's a trade off. Our accent around here is pretty notorious as well. My friend from over in Kentucky once made "I" into a three syllable word, and I was the only one who noticed anything strange about that.
Knowing a few things about Canada is pretty darn useful for an American traveling abroad. As my sociology professor, who is a French Canadian from Vermont, says, 'If you go abroad and they ask you if you're an American, the correct response is: "No. I. Am. A. Canadian. EH?' " Emphasis on the "eh".

What surprises me about Canada is that they actually have a military.Some how thinking of Canada and military always reminds me of the series finale of Northern
Exposure with all of those Mounties!LOL!!!:)

We have a very good military thank you very much, and they have distinguished themselves on battlefields from South Africa to Afghanistan. We could just use more people.

The interesting thing is going to be finding out who now wants to lead the Liberal party since Paul Martin has resigned. Everyone that was expected to run now say they won't, and this includes the party heavyweights.
