Guys: Girls with Long Hair?

Talk about anything in here.

Not getting into the debate, but for accuracy's sake - Samson was born a Nazirite - and was to be his whole life. Part of that meant he could not cut his hair. That's why it was long. Others did the same thing but for shorter defined periods.

I like girls that have long hair but not REALLY long. If it's not long enough to be touching the shoulders, though, I'd like it longer.

THANK YOU! Ha ha, I have short hair, well it's not as short now but it's been quite short in the past. Right now it's just above my shoulders. Honestly all in all I really think it depends on how you have it cut, not the length per say. I mean, I have gotten loads of compliments on the hair cut I have now, even down to a girl who was behind the checkout of the Christisan Bookstore near my house, and everyone says it really suites me. That's what matters in the end right? For me, long hair was NEVER a good look (believe me, I had it to my butt untill I was about twelve.) And then on the other hand I have seen some girls with long hair that looks just great. This girl who used to go to my friday co-op had this BEAUTIFUL thick long hair almost down to her butt that was positively shiny and never looked like it had a single tangle. Over all I think that just about every hairstyle out there will work for SOMEONE, and it's all about finding the kind of cut that works for you. And I don't think that long hair for guys or short hair for a girl is a sin, I think God looks at the motive of your heart and if your motive is pure then that's what really matters to Him.

Hey Gang - it's been a couple months for me but I'm back visiting.

I have my own opinions on this but before I begin, let's remember that we all bask in the love of God, whatever our personal preferences and life experiences. Put short: "Your milage may vary."

[1] Personally I often find recessive traits somewhat more interesting and attractive in part because their relative scarcity makes the presence of a particular specimen or phenotype more noticable. So I've had more of a 'thing' for light colored eyes and straight hair. I also tend to dislike hair that is wider above the ears than anyplace below the ears. I enjoy the unusual combinations of hair color and eye colr found in anime.

[2] Most men across the world prefer long and flowing - the motion of the head is continued and magnified by the swirling of the hair.

Think of a powerful man making a decisive, argument-ending forearm gesture while in a sharp, well-tailored business suit, then turning around smartly on his heel and walking away. ["This is the way it's gonna be; and that's final. Done and Good Day."] Now imagine the same gesture and motion, but in a medieval time, with the man wearing the long robe or cloak of a person of power in that age. When THAT lord gestures and turns on his heel, several yards of fabric get put in motion, and remain in motion as the wave travels toward the hems. Then the turn of his body flares the cloak or robe outward, which continues to waft and collapse for a few paces after he has already broken off the conversation. There is more to look at; the meaning of his body language gets broadcast over a wider cross sectional area -AND- for a longer period of time.

And so it is with hair. Long hair amplifies and sustains the motions of the head it drapes, making a look of love or admiration last longer, and fiery anger or passion is just that much more pyrotechnic. I remember one time waiting for a bus, I spotted a blonde** with straight hair walking away from me. With each step the angle of her hair changed, moving like a uniform trapezoid in space as it rythmically caught the sun like a signalling mirror. At a mile and a half away I saw nothing but that hair, still blinking faintly like a distant navigational beacon.

It is interesting to note that in many cultures women use their good looks to attract a mate in marriage, and then, the degree to which that society holds married people to their word (in other words the degree to which divorce is socially despised or made legally or religiously difficult) happens to engender a weird effect in which women (and men too) disregard their looks once married. After marriage, the benefit for the continued levels of discipline, exercise, and dietary abstinence it takes to remain sleek seem to get lost once the chase ends. So it goes for hair length: in a number of European cultures it was not only hair length but certain kinds of droopy sleeves and headresses which were preferred by unmarried women, get tossed aside once she gets married. Shorter hair, no more pretty stuff. It's not needed anymore, right?

[3] Lastly, one of the things that I have often found funny was how when a woman office worker gets clipped down to a poodle-perm, -SO- many of the other women in the office will compliment her and tell her it looks great or 'cute?' Translation: 'Thanks, you've just taken yourself out of the competition!'

**PS: Hey does everybody still remember to use the '-e' in 'blonde' for a woman and -NOT- for men?

Your comments are interesting, Galant. (Yes, I did remember about the '-e.' :D)

It's not that way for me with short hair on women; I really do think it looks better, much of the time. So if I compliment another girl on her short hair, it wouldn't be like that at all.

Frankly, I think a lot of us girls don't understand it when guys like long hair better. (Although it becomes apparent that not all of you think that, XD.)

Long hair just didn't look good on me.

If I could, I'd want to experiment with even shorter hair. But 1) it's hard to experiment with something that takes months to grow back, and 2) my family would probably lock me up first. :'( XD

God bless you. There need to be more men in the world that prefer curly hair. Your Lady is very lucky ;)

Some women just don't look good with long hair, some women just don't look good with short hair. It's comforting to see that not ALL guys prefer long hair and nice to see that some guys actually prefer short hair. n_n

I most often find that another thing to base whether or not to have long hair on is if your hair is thin or thick. People with thin hair usually don't look as good if they have it long, because when it's thin and long it just usually looks kind of scraggly. But thick hair looks nicer when it's long. However I just think it's best overall to pick the hairstyle that fits your personality best and that you like the most. I prefer short hair and it looks best on me, so short hair for me is the way to go. And about long hair moving more and accentuating movements-- I'm not really sure if that's entirely true. Sometimes I think that some girls with long hair look kind of stiff because the weight of their hair holds in down and it doesn't move as much, while short hair moves almost constantly, with the slightest movements. Anyways, that's just my opinion.

I am somewhat attracted to women with short hair, but, over all I think it depends on the individual. Some women look better with long hair, some with short. It depends on your body style and your own personal preference.

If you (the girl) like long hair, you will be more comfortable with longer hair and that will show in your body language and appearance. If you prefer long hair but cut your hair off anyway, you may become conscientious of how you look, which will be reflected negatively in your body language.

So, I say I am attracted to short hair, but I can guarantee you that I will be more attracted to a woman who is comfortable with the way she looks than a woman who is trying to hard to look like she thinks others want her to look.

It depends on the girl. Such as Halle Berry for example.
Short: Hot.
Long: Too innocent...and....cute.

I have to ocme out and say this. Anyone with a shaved head looks like a guy.

To me, personally, I think shoulder length hair on a girl is just about perfect, maybe a little past the shoulders. So, I guess that counts as long. It doesn't matter about the style, curly, straight, whatever. I just think shoulder length is great. However, I also tend to think that girls should wear their hair however they darn well please...so...that's all for me.

Why must we be abandoned in times of need?
Do others not see when we yearn for their touch;
An insatiable hunger only they can feed.
Left alone with out their words – fallen into darkness.
Stumbling blindly without their light,
We fall and scream, knowing we've faced too much,
Knowing the only answer is flight.
Flight from the lives we once faced
And the joys and terrors others have brought.
Our time with them, a time of joy and life,
Wonder we all, was it for naught?

I would rather have an average-looking girlfriend who is fun-loving and is easy to talk to (and a Christian etc), than a stunner that is a total bore and superfical. Them being a Christian is the most important thing though. Let's not split hairs over this! (lol)

Yea... I agree... (With the hair VS. personality and religeon thing)

But I like ANY length of hair on girls... (And I tend to draw long-haired guys.) I prefer long tho...

If the majority of guys prefer long-haired girls, then I'm in luck! Mine goes almost to the end of my back. It does get in the way sometimes, but it's not as high-maintenance as people would have you believe.

There was a girl in my high school... Crystal Gayle was big back then, and this girl had apparently decided her hair was the way to go. She had been growing it out for about three years when I first met her, and it was down to about mid-calf when she let it out.

So, "Do guys like girls with long hair?" Long or short isn't the question ; it's whether it looks good on you. And that is strongly dependent on the rest of you. So it just isn't that easy.

Turn the question around and ask yourself "Do girls like guys with short hairs or long hair?" It is going to be the same answer, isn't it?
I am given to understand girls found Viggo Mortensen attractive in LoTR. And they found Keannu Reaves attractive in "The Matrix". That should pretty much sum it up.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.

May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Yes. Good to see that one guy at least has finally become considerate of a woman's perspective! Just kidding...

It depends on how long we're talking about. Short hair usually looks good(if it's not too short), and the somewhat shaggy look can be really cute on certain guys. Then again, really long hair on a guy is usually not as attractive to me in real life, although anime is a different story completely... (Kenshin and Ed Elric can grow their hair out as long as they want... Ah...)
