Gardening?

Postby ShiroiHikari » Mon Jan 23, 2006 10:34 am

I recently have taken an interest in plants. I planted some strawberries, sweet peppers, geraniums, parsley, sage, spearmint. Right now I'm just waiting for the seedlings to sprout. Then in the spring, I'm gonna plant some Dahlias in my backyard.

So, I was just wondering if there's anyone else around here that likes plants. :]

If I had a yard, I'd love to plant a few vegetables and some flower beds. When I lived with my parents in high school I didn't like being told to help garden, but I've come to enjoy working outside and growing things. Give me time to think and the work is enjoyable. Plus, food always tastes better when you have fresh vegetables and spices.

When we lived in the country my mom kept a rather large garden. Now that we're in town we can't take care of it as much so we had to shorten it as it were.We usually plant corn, peas, strawberries, asparagus, raspberries, potatoes, zucchini, etc. :jump:

I am ok with plants, but often stay away from them because bugs seem to like hanging around them. And I am scared of bugs. :)

gardening is uber fun. I love it. It's like Sim City, but I don't suck at it. And bugs are like disasters.

i like to eat plants. that's about as far as my love goes.

gardens look cool, but i was traumatized by them at an early age. My Dad tends to get very gung-ho about planting stuff(particularly when i was a kid) and he'd plant rows upon rows of corn, peppers, tomatoes, zuchini, strawberries ETC and then we'd have a drought and my bro and i would have to carry buckets of water to all the plants. or if you realy want traumatization - try being asked to weed row after row of corn and tomatoes in the hot sun. meh.

XD maybe i'm just bitter. but yes, alot of people in my family have a green thumb(it's stained apparently)...i just don't. i did try to grow some flowers from seed once, but they died. *cries*

I planted some watermelon sprouts last year and they turned out ok. We usually plant a tomato plant each year as well. We don't have enough room in our yard for much else.
