Morning Hair

Postby Mr. SmartyPants » Sat Jan 21, 2006 11:00 am

I'm sure all of us with semi-long hair or greater gets the dreadful "morning hair" that we all wash and shower and comb to look neat and nice. But has anyone ever woken up in the morning and look inside the mirror to find that your hair actually looks pretty cool once you wake up?

That certaintly happens to me frequently now that my hair is sort of long. (my bangs seem to beable to reach to the tip of my nose) I looked at the mirror, and stared at myself. And came across the conclusion that I looked like a J-Rock band member.

My hair always looks better after a good wash, particularly when it gets long.

Why must we be abandoned in times of need?
Do others not see when we yearn for their touch;
An insatiable hunger only they can feed.
Left alone with out their words – fallen into darkness.
Stumbling blindly without their light,
We fall and scream, knowing we've faced too much,
Knowing the only answer is flight.
Flight from the lives we once faced
And the joys and terrors others have brought.
Our time with them, a time of joy and life,
Wonder we all, was it for naught?

When I wake up my hair either looks like a giant rat sitting on my head or like Ferra Faucet(SP?) did her hair in the 80s. Either way, very scary.

I usually get up and go. My hair is stubbornly straight, so I'm not worried.

When I wake up, my hair has a tendency to look like Wayne Static's hair (my hair isn't quite as long as his, though). And that's not a good thing, IMO.

My hair is reasonably short so it doesn't get too messy. Just get little tufts poking out here and there.

What are 'bangs'?

You don`t know what bangs are?

Ask a girl, they can describe better.

My hair looks hairy when I wake up.

We don't have the term 'bang's in Australia so that's why I don't know what they are. Have heard of them from reading some novels, but still am none the wiser. Are they like sideburns?

Bangs are hair that goes down on your face/forehead. Either convering the entire forehead, or they can be kind of like "spikes". Many anime characters have that trait (look at Hatori Sohma from Fuits Basket)

Not really. When it gets slightly longer, it tends to get mashed in one or two spots though, and that's when I suggest that it's time for a haircut. :)

For the record... We're MARRIED, people! What were you thinking?! :lol:

"Bangs" refers to the hair in the front that is cut shorter than the rest, and hangs over the forehead.

EDIT: I guess MSP beat me to it. :)

In the morning, it usually looks like some cruel prankster took a baloon to my head, unless my cat parked herself on it for the night. Then it looks like I have a mullet.

I usually wake up bald and have to consciously extend my hair out from my head over the course of about five or ten minutes.

Yes, I have retractable hair.

My hair looks all ugly when I wake up. The sides stick straight out and the front looks like a bad comb-over. After I get up, I put gel in it, and it's all spikey. >:]

Lol. If I straighten my hair the day before, then my hair looks pretty cool when wake up. I look like Miyavi when I wake up >;D But if it's curly, then I look like I just got electrocuted.

After sleeping on my wet hair, I always wake up with it looking wavy. My initial reaction to this occurance is:

"Hey, that's kinda. . . cute"

And then I come to my senses and say "Eh, or not."

I then run to the bathroom and begin flat ironing like crazy.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

My hair is terminally straight, so it pretty much looks the same. If I tossed around a lot while I was sleeping, it's sometimes a little tangled.

It depends on what side I sleep on. No joke. If I sleep on my right side, it doesn't look good in the morning because I part my hair on the right, thus making it thinner on that side, and tends to stick up after a good long night's sleep on it. But if I sleep on my left side, it looks fine because my hair hangs better on that side since it's thicker. That probably made no sense, it might be one of those things that only I can understand. But most of the time I like the way my hair looks in the morning. :-P

Ha ha, W4J, I think it's so funny that you've never understood what bangs are, because I didn't know that y'all used a different word for it! Now that a few people have explained it to you and you probably know what it is, what word do Australians use?
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
