I used to hate funimation, but I think they did a good job with Kodocha, which was the only one that really worried me, so I don't hate them anymore...

Oh they DID do a good job with Kodocha? Good, that's one of my favorite series of all time.

I'm pretty glad that someone licensed Tsubasa Chronicles, but I wasn't too pleased when I found out that Funi nabbed it. They also grabbed Solty Rei in that acquisition, which is another good series to watch out for.

Yeah, who didn't see this coming?

Well, I'm glad to see it's been picked up by someone who isn't 4kids.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

It's been suspected that Funi had these in their hands for quite awhile now. We just needed the confirmation. Which is good news as it means a quicker release date.

Good. Now we might finally be able to get a good version of a CLAMP title on TV.

I'm definitely OK with FUNimation. They've come a long way over the last couple of years. They're definitely a serious player now.

Back in the "old days," ADV went through a similar transition. Perhaps it just takes a while to get your feet wet.

Question: although I own it I'm lazy and too busy to watch it at the moment^^ Did anyone see the Geneon dub of CCS the Movie 2? I've always wanted to know how well that one went... maybe I'll watch it if i hear good things^^
Well, it hasn't (and probably never will) air on TV, even though the first one did (and I was sad they changed the plot of that one too v_v).

I think Tsubasa would be a great show for Toonami. Me thinks Toonami is going too soft nowadays. *cries for Outlaw Star and Ruroken*

I saw the CCS movie 2 dub. I didn't like it much. In terms of edits it was good (completly uncut) but I preffered the old Nelvana voice actors. I recall that the only role I thought was really well cast was Mei-lin (Julie Maddelena fits that role perfectly). I didn't like Sakura or Kero's voice, and Yukito was Steve Cannon X_X (Die Cleff, Die!!!! um... ) and I don't realy remember what my opinion of everyone else was. But...then again I only watched it once dubbed, and my memory of the quality has probably faided.

I wonder if FUNimation will keep the Japanese opening/ending theme songs like they did with Full Metal Alchemist or take it out and put in their own theme like they did with DBZ/DBGT/YYH/Detective Conan/just about every other anime they've dubbed? That is a big determining factor in whether or not I watch a particular dubbed anime series.
Simple arithmetic:
FF7 + World War II games = overrated
freedom + things we're lucky to have = taken for granted
manga + anime = a very happy person
Salvation + Jesus' Sacrifice = Eternal Life
a village - its idiot = a lot of smart people
(more to come)

"Your trademark is stupidity!" - Mr. T

Even if they do make an english opening/ending I'm sure they would keep the japanese versions on the DVD.

I'm pretty sure it's only for those series :/ For onces like Fruits Basket, if you watch the English version, it's an english song. Some companies for that (Media Blasters). So since the English version is on TV, they made an English version to it. Think maybe it varies, since DBZ is old, and well now they have uncut DVDs. *shrugs*
