New Doctor Who

I think you would like it if you have liked Dr. Who in the past, creed. It definitely has a new, "contemporary" feel to it which did take me some getting used to. But the tardis still looks and sounds like the tardis (except the inside got a make-over), and I really like the new doctor as well as his companion Rose. Very nice choices. (Though Rose's thick "common" English english is tough to understand occasionally for some midwestern Americans.

) I don't want to do any spoilers if you don't want them, but one thing I had to laugh at was that the "aliens" at the beginning of the first episode are really cheesy! Marvelously classic Dr. Who!

Things All Whovians expect from DW:
1.The Doctor to be cleverly know-it-all,even when he isn't.
2.The Companion to be pretty
3.Daleks...Daleks...Daleks...can't be DW without Daleks!
4.The TARDIS to break down in the most inoppurtune time
5.The Time Lords to be:
A)Corrupt
B)Smarmy
C)In The Way
6.Cheesey Effects
7.UNIT
8.The Companion to state the obvious
9.The Doctor to make the worst puns in Tv history!
10.The Theme!

I agree whole-heartedly!! The series would not be nearly so charming if it lost its cheesiness!

Sci Fi is going to show the new seris in march! It was just posted on outpost gallifry.

Other than the fact that DW is coming to the States in March two other pieces of good news:
*The current season in Britian will include DW's most all time popular Companion
Sarah Jane Smith as Elizabeth Sladen will guest star throughout the season.
*DW will also get a bit of Buffyization as Anthony Stewart 'Giles' Head will also be part of the new season.

Here in the US on SciFi, are they going to skip the first season of the new Doctor Who and jump right to the second season in March? Because neither Sarah Jane nor K9 appeared in the first season.

It is slated to run Friday nights at 9.So does anyone know how they will change the
current schedule to do so?Are they going to put SG1 one hour earlier or will SG Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica be on one hour later?

They are showing it between the two seasons of stargate.

Since DW has such a large following in the U.S. from having been on PBS for so long it should do well.

We need to tell as many as possible so that it does well, THe movie did ok if I recall If the seris got the same rating I'm sure scifi will keep it.

It is one of the biggest SCI FI series of all time.I think only Star Trek and Lost In Space and Buck Rogers would be the other ones on the list that even non-Sci Fi
fans would know most about.

No,she was invented for the 7th Doctor's New Adventures series.She was the Companion in the novels that replaced Ace.
