so much holiday vain...

I had to get away from it all :/ First off, the weather here has been like THE worst storm for the past few days... rain/wind constantly for the past couple days, worst weather I've ever seen for Christmas holidays here actually.
...they say family makes up Christmas but as for mine, some people seem to create the joy out of vain... then you here the "I'm tryign to make a Merry Christmas for everyone!" ...all this stuff and using the Lord's name in vain as well, they really have forgotton what this is all about. It really makes me sad when they say that, during a holiday arguement. Trying to do nice thigns for family when now people are upset, screaming, and in tears at them oment v_v. I'm... well part of it being fmaily but caught in the middle of it. I just can't take all this screaming anymore! >_< "But they're a member of our family, what should we do, not invite them?!" That's a question I ponder about. It's almost paradoxal. Which scenario is better: bringing a person over to argue with some more until everyone's at each other's throats, or don't involve them at all? WWJD? It's almost a lose-lose situation here so I almost have no idea. In all this anger, people are frustrated and rushign through the holidays in all this horrible stormy weather and there's already been a couple casualties with car crashes etc :/
I guess... this is me "venting" some. I had to get away from it and some family consider it "hiding your head" and "being protected". Help a person out and get SCREAMED at, or try and calm down somewhere else?
*sigh* Don't really want to go on with details and stuff, but this is also a prayer request too^^ One of those "holiday miracles" would be great right around now :/ My Christmases aren't usually like this, but just don't take for granted all those happy family Christmas times :/ I'll keep praying for it all though...

:( Everyone has Christmas blues. Take a deep breath and remember the reason for the season, lovely. I hope it gets better and I'll be praying for you. God bless.

Sounds like you're having a fairly typical American holiday; sorry to hear that it's so rough on you!

From the sound of it, the rest of your family could stand to do exactly what you did - walk away from it and cool down, then go back to sorting out the problems when you're calm and thinking straight. But that's just my experience with problem solving.

I hope that things calm down a bit for you as the evening goes on and that your family manages to have a good Christmas, despite the winter blues.
Toto, I don't think we're in Oz anymore...
