Former thread deleted. Meanwhile, I am not capable of fairly answering that question, not being familiar with all the anime on the list.

I'd reply... but I don't even get CN, and I'm limited to what I can see on YTV :/

But wait, since when has Colorful been on?! Isn't that like, basically ecchi?

2nd Gig is awesome. I've already seen all of it except the last two episodes in Japanese but it beats the first season in everything pretty much. Samurai Champloo, Naruto, and Cromartie High are pretty cool too.

eh, samurai champloo, but I haven't watched many of the others. I want to see Paranoia Agent and GITS, but I can't bring myself to start watching a series halfway through and PA isn't even showing anymore, is it?

as for Naruto... >.< gah... its just too slow. They ramble onnn and onnn and they don't even get anything done in any episodes. They throw a few things... then talk... then throw things... then explain why they throw things... then watch the other fights.. then talk about the other fights... then there's just those awkward staring moments.
I'll stick to the manga, thank you. At least I can read the monologues in one quick swoop.

I didn't even know Rahxephon was on tv right now!

Anyways, I petition the addition of Fullmetal Alchemists to the list of options!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Alright, who in their right mind voted for Cromartie High?? j/k
My brother rented the dvds of it. It's funny, but not that good!

I had a hard time deciding between s-CRY-ed and Samurai Champloo. I've seen all of s-CRY-ed, so I guess they get my vote. I would have voted for Naruto, but he says "Believe it!" so much I couldn't stand it anymore! >.<

Unless someone posts a good reason why Fullmetal Alchemist shouldn't be included on the list before I next log on, I'll add it. The only reason that occurs to me is if it is arguable that it is no longer new.

Now, while I still won't vote, I'll comment on some titles.

Naruto: I like the manga better. Much better, in most cases.
Zatch Bell: Um, no.
IGPX: I gave it an episode trial, and was thoroughly unimpressed.
GitS: If I voted for it, it would be primarily because I liked the first series, really. I can only hope this one will be more intellectually satisfying in the end.
Paranoia Agent: I would need to see the entire series to judge if this has any deep value, but if not, I see little in it.
Samurai Champloo: Stylish and not a bad English adaption. A possible vote.

I'll speak up as the voice of dissent...

Although new episodes of FMA ran in 2005, the show actually premiered on Adult Swim in November 2004, which would be my reason against adding it. I like the show, probably better than any of those on the list, but I thought Rocklobster's point in the poll was to highlight series that had debuted in '05 (Kakurenbo notwithstanding since it was a 1 ep-er). Otherwise, Inuyasha, GitS 1st session, Yuyu Hakusho, and any other anime series that premiered new eps in '05 would also qualify.

But Rocklobster's the one who started the poll. So if he's cool with adding FMA, I will withdraw my vote of dissent. ;)
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

I just think FMA should be added cuz its my favirote series and it also has a better story than most of the other series but i was thinking that since it didn't start in 2005 but in 2004 i beleave(as much as i hate to say it) it should not be added

I wanted to vote for Naruto, being the fan of the manga that i am, but the show's just so... average. Samurai Champloo is okay but nothing special, s-CRY-ed wallows in a bog of cliches, and while Parinoia Agent is technically impressive it gets way too full of itself (oh and Eva is and forever shall be overrated). My vote is for Stand Alone Complex

Here are my thoughts on each one I've seen
Naruto: I kinda like this one. Needs to speed up, though
Zatch Bell: This one gets my vote! Funny and entertaining
IGPX: Don't discount this one. Remember, if this doesn't count as anime, then neither does Flying House or Big O II.
SC: It's grown on me.
Gits 2: Still like the first theme better. Other than that, it's still as good as ever.
PA: Not bad.
Colorful: G4, what were you thinking? Ecchi on TV in the States? I'd expect that from the Spice Network!
s-CRY-ed: Loved it.

Naruto: I went with this one. The manga is just as good IMO. The series is fine.

Zatch Bell: Ehhhh....it`s okay but it annoys me sometime.

IGPX: Yes Kaemmerite you are right it is not an anime. Read the title of the thread once more. It says 'show' not anime. I can think of man shows that are better that came out this year. You should be more specific with the title. The show is good mainly because the characters aren`t saving the world with their talent like beyblade, they`re just racing. If Baeyblade was just tornaments then the show would`ve been much better IMO. IGPX would make a sweet video game.

Champloo: Sweet Action scenes, awesome characters, stale plot.

Gits 2: Haven`t seen it. The style of drawing appears different than the original.

PA: Haven`t seen it.

Colroful: Haven`t heard of it.
CH: Ditto.
Raphexeon: More ditto.

S-CRY-ed: Never got around to seeing it but i want to.

NGE: Very similar to Xenogears, but Xenogears would make a much better anime.

I had a similar experience, but only during the beginning. Once the main characters became involved more seriously the art felt the same as the first series. I loved the fact that in what I believe is the first episode the main characters barely appear at all.
