1) I have said it a thousand times on this site. I do not put any stock in dreams or visions, as they can be influenced by anything, absolutely anything. If it's a vision from God, then he'll KNOW it's from God, and won't be confused by it. The fact that he has no clue what it means says to me that it isn't from God, and it's best to ignore it.

2)
he says im the only one he can trust

This is BAD. VERY BAD. He needs to trust GOD. Not you. No offense to you, you understand. But when a person latches onto someone else like that, it's dangerous. He might become dependent on you, obsessed with you. Not saying that's what will happen, just saying it's a possibility.

3) I'll pray for your friend, and you need to pray for him too. I struggle with depression, though not to his level, so I understand a bit of what he's going through. Just get him to trust God, and tell him to just try and ignore the visions, okay?

It sounds like he has some nature of psychiatric problem. It reminds me of some things a friend of mine who is bi-polar has told me. I'm not saying it is bi-polar disorder. I have no idea. But your friend needs to see a psychiatrist, I think. They will likely be able to help him.

Pray for him, of course, as well. Reliance on God is very important.

However, I cannot stress enough: Encourage him to seek professional help. God made medical science possible so that we may be healed by it. That includes psychiatry.

What he said. Also, not only is his trust not in the right place, but that puts too much pressure on you. I have been in a situation where someone said I was the reason they hadn't commited suicide. It is totally not fair to you. I don't care what his state is, he has no right to put you in that position.

I know you would like to figure him out, but it just stresses you out more to think about it. It gets you nowhere, and you just start trying to take things into you own hands instead of giving them to God.

I will be praying about this. And if he does need outside help, Get it for him for his own sake.

He has go to fess up to his parents, a pastor, a priest someone who will get him some real help spiritually and psychologically. If he doesn't he's just going to slide further and further down into his hole. You should try to encourage him to do this he probably won't like it obviously, but it will be the best thing for him and stave off all that pressure on you.

OH he needs help alright, but there's one thign I don't think anyone mentioned yet: if it's not from God, it's from... yeah, the enemy :/ Sometimes I think there's a really fine line between people that have "funny ideas" in their heads, and influences from the idiot. Psychologists/psychiatrists don't forget take an evolution perspective to everything, so the BEST help possible is prayer. Don't know if he's saved or not, but maybe it would be a good idea to tell him about Jesus and stuff if he's not?

Actually, there are some really great Christian therapists out there. You just have to look in the right places. Trust me, I know.

Not sure what you're referring to here, but if it's Satan, please don't refer to him as an idiot. The Bible warns very clearly against calling the enemy names. Satan may be defeated through the power of the cross, but he's still a lot more powerful than you, so calling him names is a bad idea. Never, ever try to rebuke Satan through your own power or insult him.

Good to know. I just know that as I take psychology classes by a professional psychologist and different things we read in the text... yeah not really Christian based. Although I do know a Christian science teacher who refuses to teach people the big-bang theory... but either than that.

ehhh that's kinda iffy. You can look at it at multiple ways "yeah hes powerful because hes all bad and can do this and that and etc" or you could look at it like "its satan... he can do all he wants to me, but he will do squat"

Oh, so I guess Job had "squat" happen to him, huh? Rats. Guess the loss of all his worldly possessions was just in his mind, huh?

By the way...(emphasis added)

8In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings. 9But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" 10Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals—these are the very things that destroy them. - Jude 1:8-10

Hmm...it seems that slandering celestial beings (SATAN) by calling them idiots is, oh my, HARMFUL AND NOT TO BE DONE.

Thank you and have a good evening.

Well, to be honest, I'm not doing it to be argumentative. I'm doing it to protect my fellow brothers and sisters. The Bible says clearly that it is dangerous to call Satan or any celestial being by derogatory names. I'm doing this so that they can avoid that danger, not to argue with them.

Good point. I'd never read that before. Where is Jude?

This is just a quick expository on the passage in Jude. I think it is important to understand the context. He is talking about false teachers who were guilty of lust (v.7), rebellion (v.5), and irreverance (v.6). They probably justified their sins by citing visions or dreams they had. The comparison between the false teachers and Michael is not that Michael treated satan with respect but that he couldn't deny satan's accusation of Michael's authority. Michael knew satan was slanderous but could not dismiss it because he was not the ultimate judge. God was. So he gave it up to God, "the Lord rebuke you". Therefore, the passage means to say that no one is a law unto himself. God is the standard; and He has set the standard. He is the ultimate moral authority. (Dr. Thomas Constable).
I do however believe that there needs to be a respect for the spiritual realm and those that reside in it. Not that we need to be polite to them (demons, satan), but we don't understand it all. We shouldn't dabble in things we don't understand outside of scripture. I won't fear Satan because perfect love casts out fear and I trust God, who lives in me and is greater than the world. Walk in your authority (given by God) and trust Him.

Ah, I did not know that about those passages. And I didn't mean that we should fear Satan or be polite to him, just that calling him an idiot and stuff probably isn't the brightest idea.

To have an attitude like that (thinking satan an idiot) could lead to underestimating the enemy, I agree.
