Return of the King

Postby Kisa » Sat Dec 06, 2003 11:48 am

It comes out in 2 weeks * jumps around room* ! I heard that there will be hours of deleted footage because they needed to shorten it to 2 1/2 to 3 hours for the theaters! I can't wait to see it! Who has read the books? Who is dying to see it? Where are other LOTR fans!?

I am planning to see it the weekend after it is released with my mom and two cousins (who are seeing it the first day too...grrr).

I hope that the DVD has a lot of extra footage. I haven't bought the first two, but if the only way to get the extra special stuff is to buy them separately, I can deal with that.

I've never been a midnight showing kind of person, but I'll definitely be seeing it.

What I wonder is how much of Saruman got left in. They better have the Voice of Saruman, or at least a fight involving Gandalf. But perhaps I'll have to wait for the DVD.

Yep. I'm definately going to see the movie. I'm just not going to see it on the first day nor will I be able to see the midnight showing. I may be getting the DVD for the same reason.

Going opening day first showing hopefully...(not the midnight one) That is if Gypsy can be dragged there...I don't think she likes LOTR very much...snicker.

I'm not into camping out for first showings... I think I've only been to first showings of movies twice in my life, and not for things I knew would be swamped.

Definitely, I want to see it, though! I've seen the first two movies on the big screen, and Return of the King I plan to be no diffrent. I also want the special edition DVD set with all the extra footage when that comes out... though I imagine it will be expensive.

I read the books not long before the first movie came out. "The Return of the King" was my favorite of the book series. I have been waiting for RotK to hit the theaters ever since "Fellowship" did!

I am a huge, HUGE Lord Of The Rings fan! I've read the books (The Two Towers and The Return Of The King are my all time favorite books!) I hope to see it but I might have to wait until it come's out on dvd ($$$ Is the main reson for this).

I'm going to the first showing if I can! It's all about the first showing, you know? That's actually the only time I ever go to movies anymore... I'm so stoked for this one though.

I can't afford the first showing... Otherwise, I'd really go to the 3 part, all day showing... I wish I could do that, but it's not gonna happen... Once in a lifetime, I know... Or, maybe it will happen again when "The Hobbit" comes out in 2006 (if that's real, I mean...)

I saw the Fellowship five times in theaters and the Two Towers three times (I didn't think it was as good as the first movie, except for Gollum's character), so I'll be going to the movie as soon as I'm done with finals. Of course, I have a final the morning of the 17th at 8:30am, so I would be vastly irresponsible to go the 1st showing, considering I have two finals that day also. But, I'll see it. Several times, I'm sure. Can't wait for the Grey Havens...

I just found out that the Return of the King is going to come out right in the middle of finals week. The class schedule I'm taking is way too hard to be able to go see a movie, especially one as long as a LotR movie is. But the weekend after my dad and I will probably see it.

Why Oh WHY do they have to make it come out on a Wednesday??? I have to work, so I can't go to the 12 showing, I'll be seeing it on Thur evening though.

And I've read the Silmarillion and tons of other Tolkein books, including bios about him...anyone here think they've got me beat on LOTR fandom?? ;)

Yes. I have memorized three different varieties of Tolkein, I am legally literate in Elvish, Dwarvish and the Black Tongue. Furthermore, I regularly run into hobbits.

I don't think I'd bother with going to the first showing. I've no interest in dealing with the crowds. I'll wait a few days and then see it.

Out of curiosity, has anyone ever read "The Road to Middle Earth" by Shipley? If not I'd highly recommend it.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

I'm going to celebrate my birthday by going to see Return of The King, unless something unforeseen comes up.

December 17th, booyah! ^-^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I'm going to try to go to the theator to see this.

Of course, I'm planning to rent The Two Towers first. I was busy when it came out a year ago and I never got around to seeing it and...

Ever since the disappointment called Matrix Revolutions (my apologies Shatterheart) my heart has been longer for Return of the King all that much more.

I just finished rewatching the first and now I am watching the Two Towers so that everything can be refreshed in my brain before I see it.

Yeah, I heard that Saruman/Christopher Lee got a bum deal and was not going to any of the opening premier stuff.
