LOL!

Hmm.... contact paper. I can't say I know what it is, sorry, Natsumi Lam.

 That sounds like a good booby trap by your Grandma, Noeru!

I used to love gel pens (still do: they're great for colouring pictures to give them extra oomph....) and for one birthday I was given... I think it was five packets of them by my friends. I love my drawing stationery.
...The only problem was that they wrapped each pen individually. I had to tear open about 36 tightly wrapped cylinders!

In other years I've been the victim of pass-the-parcel type gift wrapping. One small gift wrapped in about thirty layers of cellotaped newspaper. Sheesh that took a long time to unwrap. ^_^

Put a small item in a giant box (with something else to fill in the space). Alternately, put a small item in a small box, wrap it, put that box in a bigger one, wrap it, repeat for about five or six more times.

I was thinking of doing that. I bought my friend a linksquest a cool pen for christmas (with his name engraved in it) and I was thinking of putting it in the box I got my laptop in... (never did it by the way)

What I did one year was wrap a present like 5 times. So when they take off one layer, you got 4 more layers to go through. That failed though because my friend just tore all the layers off at once. I'll try it again though

Gee, I wonder what Mithrandir thinks of that.

Myself, I used to just about laminate the gift wrapping in tape. Eventually it just wasn't fun anymore (and took too long).

Whats annoying: when people put youre gift in the box of somethng you got them last year....And you end up pretending you love it and everythng, and then they tell you that you have to open the box -_-

Boink! went to a friend's birthday party and his brother had not only wrapped Boink!'s friend's gift in tons of duct tape, but had made one of the boxes it was in with wood and nailed it shut. He needed a hammer to get the nails out. Now that's mean. LOL.

The worst wrapping I have seen is a whole computer case box. Except there was no computer in it, but bricks, lots of foam of uselessness +5, an orange, and an envelope with some cash in it.

Should have seen his face when he found the orange before the envelope.

heh, well here's 2 well, kinda meanish stories to share...

For my friend's birthday only one LIKE person wrapped his present... everyone just went out that day and bought it so they were still in their plastic bags. You can concider it "mean" that they didn't even TAKE the time to wrap them up! I thought I would be the only one simply handing my present over :/

Another thing was at a gift exchange at youth last year, I picked out a bag where they completely sealed the top off with LOADS of scotch tape... of course they never realized that I was smart enough to open from the BOTTOM... and the present was crappy anyways! :( TP, rubber gloves, and a carton of nog (which I'm not a fan of... actually haven't had it for a while).

Here's an idea I came up with though fr a person who has time: make the present opening into a scavenger hunt!! After opening a gift have a note with a riddle or somethign on it and at that location, have another box to open with ANOTHER note inside it tellign you go go somewhere else in the house. After doing that a few times... you can either finally get to the REAL present, or have the last note take you to the first box you opened, and then go "Just kidding!" and just hand it to the person :/
Heh, would be kinda amusing if someone did that...

My family loves doing scavenger hunts. I started that tradition in my house. :) One year, I had my dad go upstairs, and then go back downstairs and by the time he got downstairs the gift had appeared in his chair. Also, by brother and I sometimes wrap each other's gifts in multiple layers of different wrapping paper. That takes forever to get through because we tend to use tons of tape.

I'm notorious among my friends for being the "obnoxious one" - usually I just tell them I forgot their present or hide it and make them go look for it. :) Unfortunately, this year we're having our Christmas party at a restaraunt, so I can't hide anything. XD Pooo. So instead I'm going to wrap everyone's presents in cling wrap and duct tape and then disguise the bundles as "package bombs".

Or wrap them the way the restaurant wraps leftovers for people. Tell your family that you left their gifts at home but swiped them some food.

For my dad one year, I had a pretty small gift, a book or something, so I put it in a plastic grocery sack, tied it, and then put that several other sacks, tying each seperately, maybe even double knotting them, I think I used a good 10-15 sacks. I then put the be-sacked gift in an empty plastic icecream tub and duct taped it. I didn't bother to wrap it though, just gave it to him like that.

My family is big into scavenger hunts, and once, since my dad knows I have a phobia of it, he put one of my clues in the out house (I know, I know, wierd thing to be scared of, but I am).

My sister once wrapped a gift in an Imodium AD box. Totally not on purpose, she was too little to know what Imodium AD is, but it was still funny anyway.

My family also re-uses gift bags and wrapping paper. Multiple times. We still have wrapping paper scraps from 5+ years ago. XD
