Postby DragonSlayer » Mon Dec 05, 2005 2:35 pm

I wasnt sure wether or not to put this in the anime thread so here it is, the Seven Samurai movie is being remade in japan called seven swords or somthing. I saw the preview for it on my friends computer and it looks pretty awsome!

Interesting. Although, shouldn't this be in General Entertainment?

Thats interesting... I saw the original not too long ago. Really good movie. I dont know how I feel about a remake though. Well hopefully they dont ruin it.

Only references I could find was an old 2003 reference of finding a director for the remake and a 2004 reference to the Kurosawa giving permission to make the Samurai 7 anime, a game Seven Samurai 20XX and references to "Magnificent Seven."

As for Seven Swords, it's a Chinese film starrng Donnie Yen that seems to have borrowed the plot from Seven Samurai.

Ehhh I got a feeling it will just end up as a mindless action movie, very much unlike Kurosawa.
