Postby Azier the Swordsman » Sat Dec 03, 2005 7:53 pm

In light of recent events, I feel like extending a few words of gratitude to those who are constantly pouring their hard work into the maintaining and safety of CAA. The goal of this thread is meant as a means of encouragement. It's simple: Each user post a few of your own words encouragement related to the CAA staff.

You guys rock. Maintaining a site like this must not be easy, but you are willing to pour the effort and time into making this one of the cleanest, safest, best places on the web. And while it may be a thankless job sometimes, that doesn't mean we aren't thankful. Keep up the good work, and don't give up the good fight!

I agree. Temporarily shutting down the site was sharp thinking. A great big thank you from the Bard to all of the staff here. You are so greatly appreciated both for what you do as your duty to the CAA and for just being the wonderful people you are. God bless you.

These threads crop up from time to time, and all I can say about them is... Its been far too long since we had one!

And here is a song that I have addapted from HMS Pinafore by Gilbert and Sullivan:

CAPT. You are the Mods of the CAA;
ALL. And a right good Mods, too!
CAPT. you're very, very good,
And be it understood,
you command a right good site,
ALL. they're very, very good,
And be it understood,
they command a right good site.
CAPT. Though the site sometimes goes down,
Mith fixes it without a frown,
And gets it back up by 3:00;
they're never known to quail
At the furry of a troll,
And they're never, never sick at sea!
ALL. What, never?
CAPT. No, never!
ALL. What, never?
CAPT. Well... Hardly ever!
ALL. they're hardly ever sick at sea!
Then give three cheers, and one cheer more,
For the hardy Mods of the CAA!

Yes, fantastic job the mods/admins are dewing....er, doing.

And here are a few ancient quotes I dug up to prove they are appreciative-worthy:
Ashley wrote: Just rest assured knowing there's a lot of behind the curtains action that most people never even realize goes on around here.

Generally I appreciate but do not respond to these threads, but then an opportunity for pedantic sarcasm emerged.

My parents have pastored a church in the past, and seeing just how much hard work goes into the ministry (especially when dealing with people) gives me a somewhat broader view on just how much of a job the mods here have to deal with. With that, you guys are probably in my prayers the most.

You guys are the best team of moderators and admins on any site I've been to. CAA is a truly great community. No where else have I seen such comradery with such a large number of members. You guys keep things nice and orderly here putting the banhammer down on trolls quickly, moderating threads, keeping the site up (well most of the time;)) and answering questions. You're all awesome and have built a great thing here, keep it up we all truly appreciate it.:thumb:

Wow, Steve. That right there would be all I want from Santa this year.

That aside, I think it's pretty self evident that the mods rock. There are many reasons for that, but the first one is "because" and the second one is that "Osaka says it's true" and the third is that they take a lot of burden and heat for just doing a fabulous job of protecting this site and its members. Y'all=teh roxxors.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I hate all mods. I hate all admins. I only like myself. I especially don't like Gypsy. She's dumb. And mean. And...uh...mean.

And Shatterheart? What a dolt. If you cloned him 5 billion times, he might have enough intelligence to tie his shoe, if he didn't drool all over himself first.

Ashley? Feh. Texans mean about as much to me as a festering bowl of dog snot...

Two days? As soon as Gypsy finds out, I don't think he'll last two minutes.
