Mai-HiME

Postby SumpfFuchs » Sat Dec 03, 2005 12:08 am

I watched Mai-HiME, also knows as My-HiME last week, and do have to say, by far, it is one of the best anime i have ever seen, it starts out fairly slow, and really not all that great, but later on it really picks up, and you realize the reason that the beginning was so slow is because they were in a way, setting up the characters for you, making it so that later on the plot twists and ect. were just that amazingly much better. I would recommend some decernment while watching it is really a amazingly well done series, everything from the story, and plotline to the music and animation, along with the voice acting and everything, its all done top notch.

Mai Hime is very good if you look past the fanservice(and there is quite a lot though not as bad as some series). Also If I may do not quite watching it if you feel its to sad. Only quite if the fanservice is bugging you. So that hint at a spoiler I will say its decent, not the best, but decent.

Yep, I love the series. So emo! :) Although I found the fanservice pretty funny as a girl, it kills the fun of sharing it with my bro and other guys. So yea..downside. Personally though I didn't really mind.
Cast in the name of God, ye not guilty.

The yuri twist at the end (coupled with the absurd fan service) really ruined this show for me. Alas for shows which are killed, beaten and dismembered by absurd fanservice!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. Oh yes I forgot about that scene, or could we call it selective memory deletion? Yes that part was awfull, and I remeber why I skipped an episode.

Bad.
We see, in profile through a paper screen, as girl A takes off her kimono and slips into bed with unconscious girl B. *washes out her brain with soap* She kisses her later, additionally.
There's a completely review of this series in the review section, though. It's under "Dancing Princesses", I believe.

i thought her kissing her was only a dream, being that the two other girls showed up before she got a chance too

No, it happened, but the girl who was kissed assumed it was just a weird dream. *gag*

I watched Mai-Hime and I enjoyed it very much. It is a fun show to watch. At times it is thouching and sad. The animation is very good and I liked the fight scences. The music reminds me of Noir at times (that means it is good). Big thumbs up. :thumb:

BUT, and this is a big one, there was a lot of fanservice. To be honest, if it wasn't for the fanservice, this anime would be in my top 5. But, it's there, so be warned.
But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith-- that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

You're most welcome. If I had known that was going to happen (it was like two episode from the end), I wouldn't have watched the series at all. This element totally ruined the show for me.
