I hope you lock their cage at night... *Shivers*

Even you wouldn't look as pretty without ears, eyebrows, and lips... ;)

Nah, I've known gerbils to attack eachother... I usually ended up doing the eating, however ^_^

You don't seem too sad for having one of your pets being ripped to shreds by the others... the little bugger screaming for help... "Charlie, help me... heeeeeeelp MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!"

And you never came... :(

*laughs* Saphire could care less about me. :)

Don't worry, Im completely used to it. Happens all the time, the worst thing to run into is when they are being eatin.. T_T;; Blood, and stuff. *shudders*

Lol, I remember one time, I went in my room, and one of the boys were trying to drag the body of his brother into his house. I laughed, but it was kinda sick. =D;;

Anyway, hopfully no one will eat each other anymore. ^_^

O_O ...... thats just wrong...on so many levels....

I've heard of the mom eating her babies if shes under stress or something but never the kids eaten ol' mom! I think your gerbils are just evil! Evil I say! And like Lord Chud said...I hope you have a good lock on the gerbil cage because if they can eat their mom then they will certainly not have a problem eating joo too!! And will they stop there? No, I dont think so...first mom..then you...then the world!!!

Welcome to nature kiddos.:P It's not just gerbils that do this plenty of other small mammals and reptiles do as well. It's gross but they don't know any better it's just instincts kicking in, in their tiny brains.

But sheesh Sam isn't this is like the 5th or something gerbil of your's that's been eaten or brutally killed?:dizzy:

Hyaa! That happened to me, too! I used to raise gerbils (I had 3 in all), and when my first gerbil died (Cinnamon was his name), my other gerbil, Nutmeg, ate him! I was so freaked out, haha (imagine a 6th grade girl walking into her room to see a half-eaten gerbil lying in the cage)! I'm pretty sure I was traumatized from that experience...XD But, it turned out that gerbils do that when other gerbils die, in order to keep them from being eaten by predators. Anyways, yeah....I don't own gerbils anymore. >_>;

There is so totally a joke in there somewhere, but I'm not going to be the one to make it.

My sympathies for your strange gerbil death. o.o;; I definitely won't ever keep gerbils.
Think happy thoughts.

lol, Wow. Hey I used to have a gerbil named Pippin! ^_^ ..... >.> Dash ate him... :sweat:

Anyway yes, of course Im feeding them! *Glares at Chud*

And yes, Rurouni_Kaoru I totally understand how you feel. I have been scared by shredded little gerbils. :) I used to it now though, and sadly enough.. I even laugh... Only when I can't see anything. Like with Saphire, all you can see if like fur eveywhere, and her tail.. :lol: .... >_>;;
lol

Don't worry Y'all, Im fine. lol The gerbils are nice and locked up in their cages... did you hear somthing?? *Looks around*... *Screams bloody murder* ..................XD;

Lol Yoji-chan, not 5th, probably like the 10th or 12th or somthing in the lines of that. :) Sad ain't it?

Anyway, I should probably post pictures of the ones who ate Saphire, cause come on guys, they are so cute. ^-^;;;

No. Since they only eat each other after the other has died a natural death...Unless it's a territorial issue. When I tried to introduce a new gerbil to my other gerbil, it attacked it and almost killed it...o_o; We separated them. XD

one time this girl on my bus had a dead baby guinea pig (an infant, no hair, that stuff. Neglected by its mother) and she was carrying it on the bus (who would carry a dead carcass on the bus?)

Anyway when we got off.. I dared her to squish it... and she did >_>

she squished it with her foot... totally disgusting

well, merry was not dead when pippin started to attack her, so I dont think the "they only eat the dead ones" argument holds. They had been in the same cage in the store when I bought them, so I did not expect that I would have to separate them. My two previous pairs of gerbles worked just fine. Runner and Scrambeler didnt eat eachother, and Katee and Rambler didnt either, I guess that there is just an occasional gerble with a taste for flesh...

Ewwww!!! Blarrrgh!!!! But you have a point. Why would someone carry a dead animal onto a bus? o___O

Anyway, back on topic...o_O

I think I'd fight with someone too, if I were put in a cage with them and forced to listen to their incessant squeaking...:sweat: I've had these problems with parakeets though, my bird Stitch has had *three* mates; the first one died of a sudden illness (sad!!!); the second one she killed (broke his neck or something); the third one she is totally in love with...

But somehow I find nothing funny about gerbils killing and eating other gerbils. It's kinda...well...sick.
