company you own the most manga from?

Postby Tenshi no Ai » Fri Nov 25, 2005 10:41 am

Did this one the anime board and now I'm curious for manga... I'm taking a rough guess that Tokyopop's TOTALLY gunna dominate here, but I could be wrong :/

Well Tokyopop wins this round for me with 32!!! I also have assorted ones like 1 from Broccoli, 1 from Viz, and 3 from Kodansha (cause Japanese Sailor Moon is awsome  )

So... what company do YOU own the most manga from?

The most is Tokyo Pop (Love Hina, A.I. Love You, Kare Kano, Magic Knight Rayearth, Chobits, Cowboy Bebop, FLCL) followed Action/Viz (Evangelion, RahXephon, Full Metal Alchemest, Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin), and then Dark Hose (Trigun Maximum, Hellsing). The last being Delray (Negima).

Viz, followed by Tokyopop, DelRey, and ADV, respectively. Of course the fact that most of the Viz titles I'm reading now(namely, Kenshin, Bleach, and Fullmetal Alchemist) have or will eventually have volumes that number in the teens or higher helps to put them at the top. The main Tokyopop titles I'm reading at the moment are Fruits Basket(which also has plenty of volumes) and Suikoden. I'm only reading 1 series from DelRey(Tsubasa) and 2 from ADV, which are Pretear and Chrono Crusade(why is it taking so long for vol. 7 to come out!?).

I have 41 graphic novels from Shogakukan all but 2 are under the Flower COmics labal and the other are Shonen Sunday. The rest of my GN's are a mix of Tokyopop, Del Ray, Viz, ADV, Auska, CMP, Square Enix, Hana to Yume, and Ribon Mascots. Then my manga in anthology form is all Ribon and Shonen Jump USA. I have to many to go through and count how many of each i have. But Shogakukan is by far the largest group. And also most of my collection is in Japanese.

Jump Comics, mostly. Like kazekami, the majority of my collection is in Japanese. For English manga, though, I think Del Ray.

I'm with you there, Shao! All 20 of them that have been released...XD Darn good thing they're only $7.95, or I'd be broke.

Most of my manga is from Viz, since Rurouni Kenshin is a Shounen Jump title. I also have the first two volumes of Full Moon wo Sagashite, which is also Viz (Shoujo Beat). I think I have about 6 manga that are from TokyoPOP (Furuba 1-3 and MKR 1-3), and then I have one from Del Rey (Tsubasa 2). So yep! Viz definitely gets a lot of my money...

ADV:

I don't even need to count, since I own practically everything by Ken Akamatsu and most of the Great Teacher Onizuka series. A lot of books right there. Tokyopop definitely rules my collection.
