The mamodo world isn't presented, in the few mentions/screenshots of it, as anything other than an alternate earth. No particularly innapropriate themes are presented (with the possible exceptions of folgore/kanchome, but those aren't so much in the dub)

Even the word "demon" has changed over the millennia.Today we think of demons has being Evil,but really the original Greek idea was of a spirit sent from the Gods
that was neutral,neither Good nor Evil.

Hm. Really? I know that the greek legends certainately have 'demon-like' creatures - the 'faults' that pandora's box opened, 'hope' at the bottom, Chronos and Gaia's children the Titans, the Cyclopses that were their first children, and the two Hydras that were imprisoned under mountains and bred monsters - like the nimean lion - to roam the world. What was it that they were talking about with 'demons'? Zeus certainately didn't exactly use intermediaries when relating to human women, and though they all used mythological creatures to make their points (like Hera's eyed man and Poseidon's various creatures), I don't remember any ambiguous messenger spirits.

The Titans aren't demons,they're simply the original Gods that were overthrown
when Zeus and company revolted against Cronus.Prometheus and his air head
brother got off because they helped the Gods.
In any case I looked up both the Greek and Hebrew at the back of Strong's
today and then did some more look ups.It turns out that the word demon didn't
start to have the meaning we associate it with until around the New Testament
period.
btw:In Hebrew the word is actually 'shaggy' that is used in Isaiah,so the correct
translation would be Satyrs.

wow thanks for the great responses guys. It was some very interesting incite. Anyway about the game, I played it this weekend and i liked it alot. I recomend trying the game out, cuz i really like it.

Hm, I can - both of them not trying as hard as they can because they're trying to hold back, but eventually one of them beating the other. They'll have to fight at some point or another if one of them plans to become king/queen of the mamodos - either that, or Tia gets her book burned by someone else.

Still, I think (considering danny boy/similar 'friendly' mamodo's fates) that Tia will share theirs.

I wasn't sure what to really think of it at first, but I thought it was pretty funny. I really like it, actually. It's just one of those anime that isn't the best, but it's definently not the worst, and you just feel good watching it. And I think Zatch is adorable. XD

Apparently from the last several storylines not all Mamodos are human.
Some of them are animals.

while I have seen a couple episodes of Zatch Bell, a friend of mine pointed out that it's satanic. While I don't agree with him, he has some valid points as to why, I don't want to start a ruckus but I just wanted to add this little tidbit in there.

Yes, ZB is based around 'mamodos', whose japanese translation is 'demon'. The way they act, however, is not really like demons, more like schoolchildren, and the purpose the main characters set themselves out to follow, however, is a noble one. It's as though it's a thoroughly good story cloaked by superficial 'satanic' overtones.

And Mitsuki, yeah, both Pongyon and Nya (though Nya is a filler mamodo) are animal mamodo.

I think it's the same idea as behind Buffy and Inuyasha,that is that there are
Good and Bad Demons.
As far as "Satanic" I think some people who hate anime use that as an excuse
for not tyring to learn what it's actually like.

One could almost say they aren't trying to overcome their demons, merely avoid them, I suppose. In this case, literally.

Does a demon being good make it into a virtue? Like with the Pandora myth, where the demons came out of the box but left Hope at the bottom - could Zatch and other good Mamodo be personifications of that?
