THIS SERIES IS COMPLETELY AMAZING! Everything about it, Characters, story, quotes, music, is AWESOME!

I just fell in love with this series the first time I watched it, and i'm still completely enthralled by the series. Kenshin is SOOOOO AWESOME! I love his quotes, and love the fight scenes. It's a very moving story for me, and has deep plots to it that make me think alot about life and many other deep things.

The characters are so well designed. There's not a character, Good or bad (but really, what is Good or Bad?) that isn't completely developed. It's so well done...

Yeah, Kenshin is great. I've only watched it on Toonami, plus two more volumes I rented near the end when they recently discontinued it on Toonami. I actually haven't seen the end of the Kyoto story arc (the final battle), but will be renting it soon.

I really enjoy Kenshin because of some of the Christian themes. Although I suppose it's more about self-redemption and atonement than God-given salvation, that redemption from past sins theme is still such a central focus in the story. And the way Kenshin touches others' lives and brings about their "salvation" as well is also a nice Christian parallel. I've even heard there is a Christian woman in later episodes, but I haven't gotten to that point yet. Kenshin himself is a great character--laid-back and caring, but strong and intense when he needs to be. So yeah, another series on my "highly recommended" list!

So much to say but so few words to use, well at least for me. Gah! Little Yahiko  and as St. Peter so gracefully put it
Sano owns

:dizzy:
"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art; to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul."

Lady Magdalenia :) There is Christian's later. It's quite moving...

The points you've brought up a very interesting. The main ones i found while watching it were:

1. Everyone knows their role
2. Large emphasis on self
3. Large emphasis on redemption
4. The True battle is finding Self, as i like to put it.
5. Using battles throughout (not just physical battles, but spiritual and emotional ones) creates a nice theme
6. A multitude of character types: More real than other anime
7. Putting self on the line, for friends is the greatest love (this is a passage in the bible too. he he)

I've forgotten the others. But i try not to analyze it. Kenshin is awesome just watching and appreciating it. We are not machines, and the emphasis it puts on human nature is amazing.

I love Kenshin! It has to be one of my all time favorite animes. It's a fighting anime, but it still manages to have a really good storyline to go along with all the fights. I haven't seen the 3rd season or the OAVs, but I really liked the second season of the anime and the 3rd part of the manga.

Good?? i will give you that, but i think reflection is sad... i couldn't see it as a "happy" ending. i would say due to my beliefs... all i saw was an empty ending... (thats all i will say... see it yourself non-see-ers') haha. ;)

that story is pretty good... they just start getting so quick with the stories. its sad they had to rush the end of the series.

rurouni Kenshin inspiere me to learn Japanese, cuase I couldn't read anything in the show. I know quite alot about it, but not from watching the series. I want to get an official subtitled and dubbed boxed set. But I'll have to wait a while, because my mom doesn't like Ruouni Kenshin... Heck, the worst thing I saw was Yahiko's entire backside... (Episode(s) after they rescue the bratty kid with the mansion, when Yahiko tries to take a bath.... personally it kind bugged me) I know there is some language in the unedited, a lot of blood, and Sanosuke flips Saito off in Kyoto, buts that's probly the worst thing in the TV series, and it's edited out anyway!!! Man I wish I had taped it!!! (Or I could start on Saturday and tape it, or explain it all to my mom... hmm.)

Kenshin is one of my favorite anime series. I have all of the episodes (I just got them a few weeks ago). I didn't get a chance to see a lot of the series on Toonami, but I did see enough to know that I like it. :thumb: Unfortunately I have finals this week so I can't watch the rest of the dvd's until next monday.

Sano is cool, but there really aren't any characters that I dislike: they are all done well.

A box set of the entire first story arc recently came out.

Looks good from what I've seen and heard. I might buy it.

Kenshin is a cutie!!

Okay fangirl thing over, I love RK. I too have the entire series, OVA's, and movie. I love them all. The 6th or 7th disc, well the starting disc to the Kyoto arc is my all time favorite DVD of anime. I watch it all the time. Man all this Kenshin talk, I'm so watching some tonight.
Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.

Yeah, I love Rurouni Kenshin. I've often thought to myself, "Man, if they'd get a missionary over there he'd make a great Christian." Like Vash, Kenshin has really got the no-kill thing going.

I like it a lot. I'm kind of disappointed in Kenshin as far as moral direction goes. (He was really hyped as being a great char as far as that goes, I just thought he was a coward) Some very neat stuff in it. I personally liked all the 18th cen Japenese-ness of it.

I personally like Kenshin much more when he's the friendly, morally-upright defender of the innocent. His assassin past makes him more interesting, but his refusal to kill and his strong cases against corrupt, evil people are admirable and wonderful to see in an anime.

The series itself is great... I haven't seen all of it, but the characters are all interesting and well-done (especially Seta Soujiro!!).

I am a definite fan of the anime and manga. I so wish it would come back on Cartoon Network.

But...but Cartoon Network will just tear it into little pieces and hurt it further. I'd prefer it stay as far away from CN as possible...or get on Adult Swim.
