It's alternate universe. So it's possible for Robin to be Richard Grayson.

Didn't they have a ep. where they had a chart or something and the name Tim Drake was on it?

Oh, that's right! But there was also the episode where Raven reads Robin's mind and sees two people falling from a high wire. Total Righard Grayson reference. And he was the one in the comics I guess...truthfully, I don't think the people in charge put too much thought into it. He's never out of his mask., anyway.

Actually, they put a whole lot of thought into it... into dropping lots of contradictory hints so that it could really be ANY of them. If you're really brave, check out some of the earlier pages in this topic. There's some VERY in-depth wonderings about this very subject (speaking of thinking too much about the logic behind cartoons...)

Not entirely. Taken from Wikipedia:

"The third Robin, Timothy Jeff Drake, first appeared in a flashback in Batman #436. Drake was a young boy who had followed the adventures of Batman and Robin ever since witnessing the murder of the Flying Graysons."

It goes on to state,

"Drake has followed in Grayson's footsteps and formed his own team of teenage superheroes called Young Justice, which eventually became the Teen Titans."

My sattelite TV guide shows the new Titans episode airing at 5:30 Central TODAY (Friday) rather than Saturday. (It shows a rerun Saturday). I wonder if this is a glitch or we really are getting the episode early?

(Azie, what's the episode's name? If it's Snow Blind, then it's the same over here in Florida (though they're still showing it Saturday).)

(If it's a new episode, awesome, becaues then I'll actually be able to see it, since I'm gone all day tommorow.)

To hear the show's creators tell it, they really don't want any of the Titans to have secret identities. They are always Titans all of the time. Robin's never with out his mask and Raven sleeps in her cape. So that much of the confusion is intentional. It would be funny if they figure out a way for Control Freak to debate the number of Robins with is online pals.

The way I see it, this Robin could be either of the two. There's enough circumstantial evidence to support either hypothesis. I doubt we can expect the show itself to help answer the question anytime soon.

Well the whole thing about secret identities kind of is hard to believe since we already know that BB is named Garfield.Or was that just a glitch?

Technically, the only one of the Titans who actually has a secret identity is Robin.

Not entirely true, in the comics Starfire did do some modeling work under a secret identity named Cory Anders, but seeing as how this version is a bit younger looking than the comic version, I doubt that holds true in the cartoon.

I don't think that technically counts as a secret identity. He doesn't pretend to be an ordinary person named Garfield by day and then become Beast Boy at night. They can all have other names... though I doubt they'll tell us Robin's, because that would put an end to all such theorizing. It is also possible this is another Robin entirely.

There was an episode were a tiny dimension jumping Robin appears who has same name as Robin but backwards and a timetraveling episode where Robin is Nightwing. As such this makes him the firsk Robin whos name escapes me. If you catch it please return it for a small cash reward(£/$00.00). As for secret identities two dont ware a discuise, ones green and furry and one is at least 7 feet tall and 3/4 mecanical. Makes it kind of hard to blend in.

Well in the storyline with The Doom Patrol there seemed to be a certain concern
on the DP leader's part that BB refused to wear his DP costume and also since
BB naturally stands out with green skin and everything it is rather obvious that
he isn't using any disguises.
BTW:Is it ever established in any sort of continuity WHERE BB originates from?

You know there's a wiki, right?

"As a child, Gar came down with a rare illness called Sakutia and was cured by a serum from a green monkey. This serum had the unintended effect of turning his skin and hair green and gave him the ability to change into any animal (the colors and appearance of these animals changed depending on which artist was using the character at the time).

Originally and currently known as Beast Boy, he was adopted by Elasti-Girl and Mento, members of the Doom Patrol. He later joined the West Coast team of the Teen Titans (known as Titans West), and was part of the New Teen Titans assembled by Raven. It was at this time that he took the name Changeling. He remained with various incarnations of the team, forming a close friendship with Cyborg.

Beast Boy is a boy who has suffered many hardships in his life (both his real parents have passed away, and then his foster mother, whom Garfield became very close to, died in battle along with virtually all of the other Doom Patrol members with whom he was part of the team. Also, his foster father was driven mad by a helmet he used to fight enemies). He also has lost many teammates and fell in love with Terra (a member of the Teen Titans) and was heartbroken to discover that she was a traitor working for Deathstroke and hated the Teen Titans with a passion. Even after her death, he refused to believe for a long time that she was a traitor and blamed Deathstroke for corrupting her and using her. As a result of all of this, he uses his jokes to cover the fact that he is scared of losing anyone else he is close to."

Of course, this is the comic version, not the animated series version, but given the nature of your question I assume that that's what you were referring to.

I just noticed something very interesting upon reading a wikpedia article on Terra:

"In the direct to DVD Teen Titans: Tokyo, Terra was snatched from the time that she joined Slade, brought back to the present, and rejoined the Titans as a full time member."

I've never heard of the above DVD nor could I find it upon an Amazon.com search. Wikpedia also had no further information on this title.

From titanstower.com, posted on June 20:

I recently caught up with Producer David Slack, who confirmed the title of the Teen Titans Direct-To-Video project. “I just finished a revised draft on that. The title is TEEN TITANS TOKYO. And that’s all I’ll say! It’s not an origin episode. And it’s not a villain we’ve seen before. And it features the five Titans we know and love. And this one is wholly original. It’s a story I cooked up with Glen [Murakami]] and Amy [Wolfram]. I worked on that while Rob and Amy concentrated on season five.â€

That's true, but she's still a seven-foot-tall alien with orange skin. It's not much of a secret ID. Of the five main Titans in the cartoon, Robin is the only one who maintained a secret ID, mostly because he’s the only one who can. Starfire’s orange, Beast Boy’s green, and Cyborg is a cyborg. Raven could probably pull it off, but in the comic book, she never tried. Other titans – Speedy, Kid Flash, Bumblebee, and most others – maintained their civilian identities.

That's all anecdotal evidence. In the comics, the original Robin (D1ck Grayson) became Nightwing, so that indicates that the Titan’s Robin is Grayson. However, in the time traveling episode, Starfire travels 20 years into the future. By that time the third Robin (Tim Drake) could have assumed the name Nightwing after Grayson moved on, retired, became Batman, or died.

In the Batman comics doesn't Grayson eventually take on the mantle of Batman

I love Teen Titans. Slade is really awesome. The masked guy with the one eye. Did i get his name right? Raven is probably my favorite Teen Titan.

Kind of. There's a Batman storyline called Knightfall where Batman is seriously injured (his back is broken) by Bane. While Batman mends, he is replaced by Jean Paul Valley - a very poor pick as it turns out.

Bruce Wayne heals up and defeats Jean Paul to regain the Batman mantle. To reflect on his uncharacteristically poor decision to allow Jean Paul to be Batman in the first place, Bruce temporarily retires from being Batman. During this short period, D1ck Grayson becomes Batman.

Bruce Wayne is once again the current comic book Batman.

I saw an episode recently, and it caused me to reflect upon this series as a whole. Those episodes in which Slade was the villain are generally those I have felt were best (not counting those where Slade is reduced to a minor villain). It is refreshing for the heroes to face a villain that is so competant.

I agree. It's more satisfying than a villain like Gizmo or overload where they're easily defeated in one episode. Those are fun, but the ones with Slade actually made you wonder what will happen next....

Still...I kinda wonder what'll happen now that all the villains work together. Will it cheapen all the other episodes? If that's the way they're going I'm not so sure. The whole "I am the ultimate villain and all you have faced before means nothing now hear me rant" scenario gets old very quickly.

Actually, I think that having all the villains team up helps prevent that sort of thing. Calling on other villains for help kind of validates their threat, as opposed to simply pulling a new "greatest threat ever" out of thin air and concentrating on that alone, which really WOULD cheepen those who came before

(I missed the most recent episode, though. Am I ignorant of something that should change my oppinion?)
