As some of you may know, a lot of members of the CAA has been sporadically changing their names over the last few months. So basically, me being the curious type, would like to know:

Have you ever changed your name on the CAA?

What was it called?

And why did you change it?

Just asking. ;)

You're right... quite a few members have been changing their names. It tends to confuse me for a bit when it happens. I haven't changed mine, but I'm interested in hearing who has changed theirs, and why, too.

i havent changed mine... or my avatar, or my quote.

I have changed my sig. Mostly because, i am going in a new direction in life.

sometimes i use my real name when i need to put what God told me to put or when i am seriously backing what i put. I take responsibity on my real name ... thats the reason i use my real name sometimes.

This isn't what you were asking for (as I haven't changed my username and at this point probably never will), but it fits under the title. Here are the various monikers I have collected, mostly against my will:

I changed my name from piloswine to Scribs on the date that I achieved 1000 posts. This was a change that I had been thinking about ever since I started posting on the forums and not just in the roleplay section. I had chosen the name Piloswine only because I had been using it on various sites just so I would have a common name that I could easily remember. When I chose it I didnt know that that would be what I would be known as on the site. As Piloswine is a pokemon and I have not played that game for about two years now it doenst seem like a good indication of my personality and interests. Therefor I changed my name to Scribs, a nickname I have in real life. I like my new name better, and hope that the change did not confuse anyone, as I have the same ugly man in my avatar as I have had for a year.

What was your name before I can't quite remember?

Never changed mine. I've had mine for years and I'll probably keep it for a long time.

When I first tried to join the boards it was as "The Melody Maker", but apparently at the time user names could only be 16 characters long so I had to trim the spaces.

I ended up changing it accordingly at Anime Angels and the Guild for the sake of consistency.

I won't change mine, as it's what I use on everything.

It's also fun to find how many people don't know what it is or how to pronounce it (actually, I don't know how to pronounce it myself ^_^ ).

I like my new name better, and hope that the change did not confuse anyone, as I have the same ugly man in my avatar as I have had for a year.

Well, he is Christopher Wordsworth, William Wordsworth's usually looked over nephew.

Yes, I can remember. You're one of the few who seemed to change his name for anything besides the sake of novelty.

Where does the nickname 'Scribs' come from? Is there a story behind it or is just random?

It is derived from my actual name which is longer.

I changed mine 'cause I was tired of being mistaken for Mr. Smarty Pants in the CAA chat. Plus, I noticed that (to the best of my knowledge) no one has a RahXephon reference as a username, and I like RahXephon better than Gundam Wing.

The reason why I will never change my username is simple:I also belong to the
Dualfans forum and it's easier to have a username related to Dual!
On the other hand if I ever DID change it would more than likely be to one of the
following:
Yuki Lover(Silent Mobius is my all time favorite anime and Yuki Saiko was the
first anime character I ever loved)
Kagome Lover(obvious reasons)
Qoun or Haruka Lover(two of my favorites on RahXephon)
Flay or Lacus Lover(Flay Lover would be another obvious one)

But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith-- that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
