Those kinds of threads bug me, mainly when it's like, "I'm leaving" and then you open it and their like, "For one day. Got you guys, didn't I? Now, I'm not mad or anything, I just have to go to the dentist. I'm not commiting suicide. Be back tomorrow." I'm just like, "What? Come on, ONE day?" Or even two or three, or even a week, no one will think you've left for good in that short of a time. And it just kind of takes up room. I usually say bye because I want to be nice to people, and I don't have a problem with any of the people that have posted these threads, but I just hope they won't next time. We all love you, and we'll all be glad when you're back, but we'll make it OK for a few days without knowing exactly where you are. If we just leave it to people to assume we're just away for a bit, the board will be a lot less cluttered

Hehe. I apologize. I made a leaving thread once...I was going away for two weeks, and I didn't think I'd get to be on at all. I had spent a lot of time here over the summer, and I didn't want to seem as though I had dropped off the face of the earth. XD I left a thread, and then posted on it later, when I found I could get online. As soon as I think the problems I've been having on here are over, I come across this. Perhaps it would make you happier if I randomly disappeared to leave you wondering if I'm dead or not? The purpose for goodbye threads is so that people know that you are leaving. Many times someone has left randomly--like you--and I've wondered if they were dead and I have spent countless hours praying for people who have randomly disappeared without trace or warning. If you don't like them, ignore them.
If you guys are so sick of goodbye threads, maybe you should think about people who are sick of complaining threads.

I have to say I agree with you all the way on this one Heart of Sword.
I've prayed for people on here over and over again when they had disappeared for a while. Of course I was happy when they came back and explained what happened but it also irritated me that they didn't tell me why they had gone in the first place. At least PM your closest friends and tell them where your going and maybe they'll pass it on. It's very stressful when friends suddenly disappear without an explanation first.

Like once, someone had posted in the prayer room that they were sick, then not too long after that they vanished for about a week. I thought they were in the hospital or something and, though I was relieved when I learned that they were okay, I was a bit frustrated.
The thing is, some of us have many many friends on here and it's a pain in the tail to PM every last one of them. And then there might still be people who are concerned when you disappear, friends or not.

Maybe everybody should calm down a little bit because we all seem to be jumping at each other's necks. I'm not trying to start another fight, but I think it would be best if we tried to express our feelings carefully and thoughtfully.
I still have to agree with Heart of Sword on this matter though. I also wonder why this thread was made because all it seems to be doing is causing people to get mad at each other.
