Ok... the whole "artistic nude" thing maybe ok in some instances, and may not be offensive to some people. But when they have the Featured Deviation that comes up on the side panel, when i am looking at pics, and almost every single day, one of those (if not more) is a naked woman... it makes me really mad. Guys should not have to see that, especially ones that dont want to see that stuff. They should have some sort of WArning covering the inappropriate parts of the body, or cover the whole thing as a disclaimer.

What i have had to do... is tape a piece of paper on the right side of my computer screne, so when that stuff pops up, i don't have to see it. It really is a shame, cause a lot of the featured Dev's are awsome... but id rather miss those than seeing more naked people.

I thought they DID cover up pictures with nudity...I seem to remember more than once seeing a little box that said something about "This artwork is not appropriate for all ages" or something...do they not do that with the Featured ones or what?

Well... not the featured Dev's. They just put them there. They want people to see them... but for the nude ones... they should srsly cover them up. or completely have a huge warning on them or something.

I agree, they should have a warning or at least a completely different section for the nude art so that their featured somewhere else. I wouldn't want to look at that!

I know which picture you're talking about LQ. I wouldn't consider that artistic nude since she looks like she's in the middle of having sex with someone, honestly. That one was definitly porn

I think there's a mature deviation content that can be downloaded, or it's a setting that can be chosen. I'm not sure where to find it, but I think you can find it somewhere in the FAQ, and some people have links to it in their signatures.

They have the box all right. They put it in the Deviation's description, which means you can still see the thumbnail, not to mention the entire picture.

The mind sees what it wants to see. If your mind wants to see nudity, it will. I see art. If your willpower is so weak that you get aroused by a single picture of a naked woman, just don't go to the site anymore. Or turn off the pictures (though that would be pointless on deviantArt.)

It's...uh, not really a matter of what you want to see. If there's a picture of a naked woman there, it's not what you want to see...it's what's there. A naked woman.

Some people's willpower IS that weak. Though I don't like the way you've phrased that...I'm sure there's some sins that you have problems with that I don't, but I'm not going to say something that sounds insulting like, "If your willpower is so weak you can't walk past a slot machine without putting a quarter in." Lust is a very serious problem for some people, such as myself, and it doesn't take much to arouse those thoughts.

I'm sorry if you didn't mean it that way, but remember, this IS the internet, and it's very difficult to infer tone of voice from text...and the way it seems to me, is that you are being condescending to those who struggle with lust.

Anyway, back on topic, the problem with your logic is that some people are artists, and they go to DA to post their work. They shouldn't have to deal with the temptation of seeing something that arouses them when they're just going in to post something they've drawn.
