I voted electronic, techno, trance. I really enjoy that kind of music, though not the American techno pop. Gives me a headache. I really like euro-pop. Very upbeat and techno.

J-pop is the best pop to me, but I still like American rock best. U2!

Classic rock all the way! Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Genesis, Pink Floyd, The Doors, just too many to name...

I also really like old school R&B and Soul like James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, so on.

And some electronica/techno stuff like Amon Tobin, Crystal Method, DJ Qbert, DJ Tiesto, DJ Sandstorm, and a couple others that don't come to mind.

Hmm....I basically like some of everything...
I used to knock genres...and bands...but then I would always have to swallow my words because I'd be listening to music with friends and I would say, "Ooh! I love this song!" and they would say..."I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU HATED (insert band name or genre)!"
So, I just have come to realize that I am truly eclectic in my musical tastes...
there is usually something good in every genre...and some musicians that I can't stand sometimes have good songs....
go figure

[quote="xCAFx"]I just recently really listen to a whole Led Zeppelin song(Stiarway to Heaven) and it was just awesome![/QUOTE

Stairway's what their known for, but they had the most consistent quality of any rock group ever. 8 full length studio albums that were on the charts from 1969 to 1979. Even stuff crappy by LZ standards was better than just about everything else, their last real one In Through Out the Door. Then the drummer Bonham died and they released the usual CD of stuff that never got put on their other albums in CODA.

I highly recommend you check out more Led Zeppelin you won't regret it. Deffinetly Led Zeppelin I and II so you can hear their early good stuff. Of course the unamed Led Zeppelin IV (aka ZOSO) it was never really named anything, it was "those days." Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti, and the rest are of course very good but those others rank the highest in my opinion. Any song on those albums minus one or two you can't go wrong with.

Come on metalheads!!! We aren't in number one any more!!!
Half kidding. If metal must be over taken, at least it seems to be by classic rock. Doors, CCR, Zepplin, Skynrd, Clapton. Great stuff.
Funny, quasi related story, the other day Riders on the Storm comes on the radio, and by about halfway through, I could hear my six year old daughter singing along to the chorus. We're getting her started right. :)

I like anything rock (including metal), but I like more modern/classic rock than metal, so I put that.

I had to vote metal. I mean, come on, I'm a Black Label Society fan. If I didn't vote metal, Zakk Wylde would come to my house and beat me up. And I would deserve it! ;)

I love trance nearly as much as I love metal. Have any particular DJ's you like? I'm big into Astral Projection and Armin van Buuren.
