I used to have dreams like that, nightmares, constantly. And even durring the day when I closed my eyes..I'd see those demonic pictures. The odd thing was, they stopped after my mother became sober....for awhile.

I think I heard on the news that there are only six official exorcists recognized by the Church. Is that true?

not sure... [i personally think]... that the news and people in general think that exorcism is a Taboo field.. so they have their idea picture exorcist.. i think there are a lot of exorcists.

[SIDE NOTE: nothing to do with last post] Also what i have noticed is that many people think that you need special crosses, and stuff like that. Jesus didnt use a cross to cast out.. he used his voice, for us it is Jesus' name and praying and fasting. I think the media fanticises about demon possession and exorcists.. like Emily Rose and Exorist [PLEASE PLEASE never watch these.... if you have.. you might want to pray... eyes are our windows]. They paint a picture of a man with a cross, feared, sweatting and barely holding his ground. I think the media claims men like this as ideal Exorcists.
I think if the media looked through God's eyes, the media would see the exorists like Jesus and His disciples there would be a lot more.

I feel inclined to agree with this.

Now, if Jesus didn't go around seeking out for demons, it's most likely that we shouldn't either. With that said, I caution the dangers of being fascinated with this type of thing. Some ppl go around looking out for supernatural phenomenons out of their personal curiosity, rather than in God's name. I would say that seems foolish to me coz you may find what you're looking for and it will not be pleasant (Yumie's point perhaps?). If it's not your business, don't voluntarily make it your business.

This is how i truely think about it..... only move where God moves you. Deliver who God says 'Deliver THem". I dont think it is wise to search because when you search you are not walking where God sends you... unless God says "go and look". Until than, sit, pray, fast[how He leads], and go only where He sends you. I am very cautious about not going and delivering where i am not sent. Even when i know someone is possessed/opressed... i only move on it if i say " God do you want me to pray and deliver" and if he says nothing , i stay put.

One thing i know, some people are oppressed and possessed because they have given lawful right for demons to be there. For me to step it and say "You need to be delivered" without God's ok would be completely unwise... a demon does not release someone unless their right to be there has been broken. If i pray over someone without God saying ok... 99% of the time nothing will happen in deliverance... [there are exceptions]. A right for a demon is broken when the person recognizes, confesses, and proclaims Jesus as their Lord. Then the demon has no lawful right to be there and must leave. If it is a child.. many times a parent has to take that place. God has the keys to freedom... we shouldnt try to access and oopen doors without God given you the ok... bad things can happen.

Note that you can also get heavily involved in a ministry even though God had not called you to do it.

Yes... but God has given the order "Set the captives free". That is to every one of us. So, each of us are called to deliver but not all are called to have it as a career. Like we are all called to pray but not are all set intercessors.

What are you talking about? We make prayers on other people's behalf all the time!

yes intercession.... but not all make it a career. Like i said... we all are to pray like we all are to free the captives... not all are called to it as a profession. Or if that was true... each would have to have the responsiblity of each member of the church... like God said we are all one body but we have different members who do different jobs. You might interceed at times for people but it might not be you called job of the church.

It doesn't have to BE a profession. We're called to do it regardless.

ok.. so logically under your arguement you must be active in healing, deliverance, preaching, teaching, speaking in tongues, prophecy.. and so on.

Why would Jesus need different members of the body if we are to handle everything... why would God say... there are many members but one body... shouldnt we all be one member. And shouldnt we all be the eyes, ears, legs ,arms, voice... and so on... every day of our life.

you could take it one step further... all are to teach because God says go out and tell people about Jesus.... yet that would contradict "Some are called to teach".

God set it up that we all pray .. but not all are called to be the primary intercessory member of the body.

WARNING:  below ;)

For some of the other members who are ignorant or still researching the truth in this matter, I'll offer this analogy.

As a law abiding citizen learns to safely use a firearm to prepare for the possiblity of needing it for self defense &/or to defend the innocent &/ helpless against violence, or learning first aid to be ready to help save a life is very much like studying the scriptures to prepare for the possiblity that we may do spiritual battle whether within ourselves or for others. God forbid it ever happens, but if it ever does, you'll be ready.

In short, prepare for the worst and pray for the best.

Rant over, you can now go back to your regularly scheduled thread.

You're mistaken. I don't believe in every one of those things, let alone being "active" in them.

Those things do exist, but not everyone is Called into them. I believe that we can all do them through Jesus, but just because we can do it doesn't mean taht that specific area is God's calling on our lives.

For example, a person can pray for someone to be healed, and they are, but that doesn't mean the person who prayed is called into the Healing Ministry. Likewise, someone might receive a prophetic revelation (which is NOT just telling the future! Whole other topic completely...), but not be a full blown prophet.

Note that you can also get heavily involved in a ministry even though God had not called you to do it.

Yes, that is true. It is also true that while some are called to be in a minstry, they enter in too soon without God's annointing, thus preventing the full extent of God's Will for that person's work from being realised.

I don't speak in tongues, but I've heard some people say you aren't a Christian unless you can speak in tongues!! Rubbish! Its only one of the spiritual gifts God gives and not everyone has it. They can have other gifts instead.

Church last night

Postby ~Natsumi Lam~ » Sun Oct 16, 2005 1:04 pm

well,

I went to church last night for my first actual training class for deliverance ministry. if you want to find out about the church and what they do it is
http://www.boblarson.org . The entire church is concentrated on deliverance ministry.

Well, last night at training is expecting a normal teaching class. But, when i got there i saw a boy outside that i knew was a little off [something was just off in his mannerism]. The only reason i knew he was going to church was that he was gripping a bible. Well i went inside the room and sat down with my friend and we talked for a while. Then they said that this boy said he would be prayed over infront of everyone instead off doing it with the normal 2-3 people. Well they cast out demons infront of everyone. It was quite an experience. That guy have many demons and.... it was an experience.....

Wow. I'd imagine it would be. Could I pm you to ask you more about it if you wouldn't mind?

I'm taking a sort of similar class, only we learn about these issues rather than doing actual exorcism. (which, for teens, is probably best!)

Sounds like you have a strong deliverance ministry at your church. I wish mine did.
