Favorite Azumanga Daioh student

For the Azumanga Daioh fans, who is your favorite student out of the six casted? My preference obviously leans towards Yomi, though Tomo is a fun character to watch throughout the series.

Probably Chiyo or Sakaki. Osaka's nice but a real airhead. o_O I'll probably vote when I see more of the series.

Sakaki has some of the funniest moments in the series to me. She is definately my favorite.

Tomo's probably my favorite, with Sakaki and Chiyo-chan as my runners-up. Of course, although she's not a student, Yukari is also one of my favorite characters. She consistently cracks me up.

Duh.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

It's all about the Chiyo-chan.

Sakaki was an early favorite of mine, but Tomo's indomitable spirit finally won me over.

Yeah, I kind of expected the child-prodigy to be most loved than anybody else, but I guess the people have spoken. :)

Well, I guess I get to keep Kagura all to myself.

I like her because when she gets a little older she'll learn to fly on a feather, animate corpses, and kill people with wind.

Just call me Narakumanga Daioh :)

Well, I guess the poll has kind of died down and we see Osaka and Sakaki to be the top students of the board. Surprisingly, Chiyo-chan still remains to be among the last that are tied, along with Kagura and Yomi.

I wonder how the votes would have changed if we added Chihiro in there?

I voted Kagura. I guess she is just the most attractive looking and she has has some funny moments in the show, so I guess maybe my reasons are strange, but she is probably the best of them IMO. I haven't really been wow-wow over any of the characters in that show yet though. (I've seen the first 3 DVDs off Netflix).

lol, yeah, that's what I first thought of when I heard her name. (for those of you who aren't getting it, Kagura is a character from InuYasha, in which case if you haven't seen InuYasha, you simply MUST :P)

I'm not surprised that the guy with an Inuyasha avatar pick Kagura. But it doesn't bother you guys that she becomes just a lackey of a powerful demon?

I guess it's to be expected, though, considering her lack-luster abilities in school. She's just not motivated enough to excel in anything but sports. That makes her a good fighter, but unable to break the hold Naraku has on her. Too bad the other two "Numbnuts" didn't stick with her, she may have not fallen in with the wrong crowd, then.

Well, Naraku's hold over her is that he controls her heart. Replace the heart and there's no problem.

Whoa. Slightly grave dug, but still cool.

I put a vote in for Sakaki-san. I'm sorry, but I cannot get over the cat scenes. I *did* notice a few options were left out, though. No Kaorin? Oh well. As with any poll, I guess you have to narrow it down to a managable number.

Sakaki. I don't know why but she's the one I keep cheering for. I love how she takes a sort of big-sister role to Chiyo-chan early on and I couldn't help but want her to finally pet a kitten that didn't bite her back. She's so brave inside and always reaching for her dreams. Once I could see past the human mystery that is Osaka, she became my favorite hands down.
