Ponderings on the subject of eventuality for the CAA

Talk about anything in here.

*Phew!* Thanks, SP1! I was gettin' kinda nervous there with "senility" and "in our 40s" being in the same paragraph! :)

Since I'm already there (the 40s part, not the senility part! ;)), I hope y'all plan on sticking around awhile longer. I just got here, and I'm quite enjoying myself. :)

In regard to 1, my hope would be that anime would cease to become a cult phenomenon and would become an accepted medium like everything else. To be completely honest, my interest in anime has never been different than my interest in other mediums of fiction, except that I have far less access to anime.

Your second outcome is also interesting. However, as you said, it is likely that CAA as an organization will be able to survive shifts in technology.

But for a few words, I'm the one writing it.

These comings and goings should not be looked at negatively. People will come and people will go. In between, they will laugh, cry and share. Although it is romantic to wish that things would never change, if it were true that would also mean we never grow. It also means that we would never do anything nor meet anyone new.

I raise my glass and toast many of those who have left – even a couple who have been banned. I remember them fondly, but I also look forward to meeting the new people who will spend a time here. And when it is my time to go, I will not be overly sad. I will be looking forward to what our Lord has in store for me next.

It’s OK to be sad that a friend has left. I hope that when my time comes, that a few tears will be shed for my departing. Who here doesn’t hope that their presence may be used by God to touch a life? I also hope that it will not be the fear of change that drives anyone away.

I was already an “old manâ€

Hmmn... intersting topic. I think that... for me, i will try to stay on CAA as long as it lasts. I love this place, and the people in it. It is sad to see members leave, but like Mith said, Those people i have met online are awsome, and I would rather have and lose them, than to have never had them at all.

CAa rocks!

The same idea has happened in my life again, and again. People move away, or find new friends, or people's relationships fall apart.
I know I am not well known, nor have I been on very long, but I can see some change already in who use to post and does post. I myself haven't been around as much, and I use to only really play in the arcade.
CAA has been a really nice place to just hang around in. People don't have to worry about what they might run into on the site.
I just think that everything happens for a reason and at some point in life everyone changes. Whether or not they keep the same intrests is yet to be seen. But, hopefully it is changing for the better.
