Packaging Excitement...

Postby Fail_safe21 » Tue Oct 04, 2005 11:14 pm

Kind of a random question, but do you guys ever get overly excited when you receive any sort of package from the mail? It's like you look at the box and you instinctly grab the knife to rip open the tape that surrounds it. From there, it's either opening the bubble-wrap or removing all the little white strips (called 'peanuts') to get the one thing you've been waiting for all week.

To me, it's like Christmas morning everytime I get a package from the mail. :)

Yes, I get very excited when I get a package from the mail. I call the bomb squad and if it doesn't blow up. Then whatever is in the package, is mine! But the best part of the package is the bubble-wrap. I can play with that stuff for hours!

Now in a not so funny way.

I do get a little excited when I get a package in the mail.

I would get excited. . . if I ever got packages in the mail. I never order anything, and nobody ever just sends me anything, so basically I can't remember the last time I got a package. Hmmmm. . .
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

I get excited too when I see a package in the mail, especially if it looks like it contains a toy, book or model. :)

Yumie - why don't you ask a friend to send you a package? You could send one to your friend in return, this way both of you will receive packages.

You could even send the same package back and forth...

I like open big packages, especially if it has lots of bubble wrap and if I happen to have forgotten what the package is because it took so long to be delivered (it becomes a surprise).

I think everyone loves getting mail, when its personal and not stinkin bills!

I do get exicted as well but I dont waste time trying to find a knife and cutting it, I use my super hero strength and rip the darn thing open in the process mutilating the box.

But most of my stuff comes in envelopes so I just open that.

I get excited, too, because I hardly ever get anything....even letters...because I don't order stuff...so, when I usually get packages it is usually from my family and usually comes as a surprise. =)
funny thing, too, is that I work in the China and Crystal department at Robinson's May....and we get to open new merchandise and display it...and I think that is one of my favorite parts of my job.

I love getting letters or packages in the mail, since it's such a rare occassion when I do get them... I get more bank statements than I do anything else in the mail. *sigh* I should subscribe to a magazine or something... or harrass friends and family to send me stuff. ^_^

I really like those biodegradable packing peanuts - they're fun to play with. :evil:

Haha. It's practically free 'confetti' everytime you take it out of the package. :lol:

Yes, packages = the fun.
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share

And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence.

Best way to make The Shimmer happy? Send her a package. Or even a letter or card <3 I adore getting REAL mail in the mail. I like opening packages at work, too. I'm the one that orders all of the music, but by the time it gets here, I've forgotten exactly what I've ordered, so it's a rather pleasant surprise to refresh my memory :D

I love getting stuff in the mail, especially because it's so extemely rare. In the last 5 years, I've gotten two letters, and one package in my lifetime:

One letter from my youth pastor and his wife, thanking me for volunteering at the church during a huge event. ^_^

One letter from my uncle, for my birthday. :D

The package, I recieved this March, for my birthday. .. Actually, it was two packages... Or two big boxes, really. It was a NEW COMPUTER POMGZASZSAFK!! 8O (Which I am using now. ^_^)

PACKAGES! Yes, even when I've ordered something and know it's coming -- the anticipation is exhilerating. For along time my favorite vehicle was the UPS Truck. Now I like FED EX because it's excellent and less expensive. Wish I could hold on to a package for awhile and savor the excitement, but nope! I hack, rip, or cut it open (being careful if it's damagable by cutting). Can't wait to see. That's why I am an avid ebayer, and Amazon customer. I LOVE packages too! So far, from the feedback here -- it's normal, and common for people to love getting packages! Neat to know. :)

my favorite scripture:
"I don't want your sacrifices---I want your love; I don't want your offerings---I want you to know me." Hosea 6:6 (Living Bible)

The reason I love this is because it reminds me that
our God is a personal God. He wants a personal relationship with us.
Not duty prayer, but openness and true communication.

Ummm....I only get packages a couple times a year, so yeah I'm either suspicious of junk mail or hoping it's not underwear. Sometimes, I have gotten cool things like a LOTR poster or RK dvds. *sighs*
