A rainy winter day in my room. Maybe a cup of herbal tea. That would be the perfect time to read for me!

Time: anytime i am awake and not groggy and ate already. Any time of year.

Place: In a large egg/ poppa san chair.

Environment: me against my chair with my back to the window so the natural light shines in. Liquid inscents burning flower pedle smell.

No music because i was raised around it so i think about the music when i read... so i cant do both.

I love it in the winter time when It has snowed, a day off from school, listening to bach, or other piano. and/or celtic music in the background. I get so into stories then. Yay! Winter is coming!

HOt cocoa/ and/or tea on the side... with some sort of incense somewhere in the house. ^^

Mine is good for any time of the year:

It's a small room, I can hear the sound of an air conditioner running, a low...gentle...relaxing hum. On the right is a shower. On the left, a sink. The smell? Let's not go there. While I dare not name this location by name, it is, indeed, the greatest place to read on earth.
I'm a shoe-in for hater of the year.

Curled up in my bed, under my lamp. Preferrably with a tray of unfinished breakfast claws at my side.

Or at the dining room table after dinner. I read there a lot.

In bed.
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share

And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence.

Either:
in my room at night (w/ or w/out music)
or in a vehicle (even if it's not moving) READING IN A VEHICLE ROCKS!
or in the living room when the tv's on or the radio's on (don't ask me why) and everyone running around and i'm in a corner of the room in a big chair ignoring the chaos and reading.

I Never read outside.

Food: none, or else i'll forget to read and eat it all

Drink: 2-3 liters of water or any other random beverage beside me. (i'll serously drink it all in < half an hour though)

Atmosphere: i like to read while listening to soundtracks of movies/videogames with rain and/or night being a definate plus

YES!

I read mostly at night, in my lovely bed. No music...too distracting.

I can't say that the time of year matters for me. However, I prefer to read without noise, or music played at a reasonable volume if anything. For more academic literature, I seek silence and solitude, but I can read a light novel in front of a television if necessary. Similarly, I prefer to sit when I need to focus on my text, but I read in basically any position otherwise.

Lying in my bed, with my lamp on and the blinds are closed, before going to sleep. That's the best atmosphere for me to read. It is also a good time to play on my GBA .

I also like to read on a bright, sunny, weekend, afternoon, when my parents are asleep and it's so quiet and tranquil.

Basically any time and place there is a chance to read. :thumb:
However perferably on rainy or snowy days when there's nothing to do outside or else on nice sunny days outside under a tree. :thumb:

I don't have any great preferences for atmosphere as long as I am somewhere well-lit and relatively free of distractions. Being able to distinguish individual conversations (as opposed to a general background hum) is distracting, as is any music with lyrics that I can understand.

I generally find my concentration level slightly higher in the winter than in the summer, but the weather usually does not make much of a difference to me.

I have a very particular atmosphere that I like for reading. I like a lot of Nitrogen (~78%), a good bit of Oxygen (~21%), and a handful of Argon and other seasonings. Of course, others may prefer other atmospheres, but that's my favourite.

At night, dim ambience, cool Autumn breeze through an open window. Total silence unless it's nature.

a mug of chai tea, a quiet room with soft, comfy seating/lounging area, and the less electronics on, the better. i have a habit of always reading near a window too.

A cool fall or spring day in the park by my house (old 1800's park with big trees surrounded by old homes, with *no* gaudy orange and yellow plastic playground equipment).

Love to read anywhere, but if I had to choose my favorite place and time, I'd probably say any winter night in front of the fire with lots of comfy warm pillows and blankets and a cold Mountain Dew. Ahhhhhh, perfect! :)

I read almost anywhere but the easiest place to concentrate and fully immerse myself in a book is either in bed or sitting on the sofa when there are no other noises around, (doesn't happen too often).

Fall, crisp but not cold outside. In the middle of a big quiet expance of land, like a park or something. Sun, but not noon time sun.

Or, in a busy little cafe, with your favorite drink and the buzz of people all arround you.

Or, at home on a cold winter night, with your music in the background, a quiet house and warm blanket.

:thumb:

Of course, I will read any where, any time, regardless of my surroundings.
