Anime Weekend Atlanta! XD

Postby Heart of Sword » Sat Oct 01, 2005 7:21 am

SUGOI! That was quite possibly the most fun I've had in quite a while! Anyway, I'm talking about Anime Weekend Atlanta, a con I managed to fly down to. I got to meet Wingzero-kun and Android-kun, too. They're sooooooooo cool! Wingzero-kun even gave me this adorable chibi Kiba! ^.^ *huggles it* He stands guard on my computer monitor. It was such a blast, and we got to meet Vic-san, a really cool Christian voice actor. We also saw Fullmetal Fantasy, which I guess could be called a fanfilm of Fullmetal Alchemist. Vic-san is the main character and he starts turning into Edward Elric...it's hysterical, even if you don't like Fullmetal Alchemist. I got pictures from it (Vic-san said it was okay to have pictures, just not video), so I'll post those some time later. XD

And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

Yes, that was you. *scurries under a bed to hide* XD

This is a new computer, so the digital camera isn't installed on it yet, but you shall see Vic, you shall. For some reason he reminds me of an 80s rocker... o_O

I hope that you don't mind me posting my report on AWA. I like to share my report with you all.

Thursday night.
Due to a mix up on calling the wrong hotel. I had to find another Hotel close by. My dad drove me up to find the place and since I really really hate driving in Atlanta that much. Anyway, I find a hotel that was not full and so I stayed there. The only thing bad about having to stay at there was that you had two highways and a mall across from where con was and where I was staying at. The good news was, they had a shuttle bus to take people to and from the hotel to the area where the con was.

Anyway, I check in and got everything unpack. Then me and my dad drove over to where the con was at. I pick up my AWA pass and then we headed over to Shake and Steak for a late dinner and then back to the hotel. My dad left to head home and I started to plan on what I was going to buy at the dealer room at the con. After I had it all plan out, I went off to bed and tried to get some sleep.

Friday-

I got up early and got a ride on the shuttle bus. I showed up at AWA con at 10 am and walk around a little to see where everything was at. Then I went to the AMV room and watch some of this years AMV's that would be in the contest later. at 11:30 am, I waited in the line for when the dealer room to be open. At 12:00 pm or a little after, they open the doors to the dealer room and I was off to buy anime cels and soundtracks. I didn't see alot of dealers selling anime sountracks, so from Fri to Sat, I brought anime cels and one big FMA Japan movie poster.

As I was in the dealer room, I saw Vic Mignogna and I went up to meet him and we talk for a few mins. He is so cool and very nice person. I'm glad that I got to meet him. I stayed around when signing tables where and Jessica Boone and Lauren Goodnight showed up. Since this being a Friday, there was not too many people trying to get stuff sign. So, I got to talk to both Jessica Boone and Lauren Goodnight. They are both sweethearts! They both sign my AWA program book and a few other things. Jessica Boone did the english voice of Chiyo from Azumanga Daioh, She sign two of my Chiyo douga sheets sketches. She also sign a small Azumanga Daioh poster that I had.

She also did the voice of Misaki Suzuhara from Angelic Layer and Lauren Goodnight did the voice of the Narrator in Angelic Layer. They both sign my Angelic Layer that I got out of Newtype USA mag last year.

I'm so glad that I bought that poster with me. Because after in the day, I got Mariela Ortiz, who did the voice of Ringo Seto in Angelic Layer, to sign the poster too. So, before long, I should have my Angelic Layer poster fully sign by just about everyone that did voice work on that show. Later in the day, I got Greg Ayres to sign my AWA program book and I talk to him for a few mins. Greg is a really cool guy and funny too. Then I got Vic to sign my FMA Japan movie poster and we talk for a few more mins before I headed on.

I mostly stayed in the dealer room on Friday and I was tried. I left the con and got me some dinner and went back to the hotel and went on to bed.

Part two!

Sat-

I got up and headed over to the con. I went back to the dealer room and brought me some more anime cels. I also brought a DDR pad and game for my PS2 and took all the stuff that I brought back to my hotel room.

I headed on back to the con and you guess it, I made my way to the dealer room again. I just couldn't stay way from Asylum Anime table. It's where I mostly buy my anime cels online and when they come to AWA, I have list of stuff to look for on what I want. I ran into my friend Kevin at the table, He mostly buys anime cels, but he mostly didn't get any this year and got some small stuff. But him and me both look through just about every cel book that Asylum Anime had at there table. We talk and had alot of fun looking at cels or thinking about ones that we may buy.

After talk to him for a bit and draining more money into cels. hehe! I move on and walk around a bit more. It was getting close to 3pm and that was when all of the member from CAA were going to meet up. We all meet up and talk and had alot of fun. We also saw Fullmetal Fantasy fanfilm that Vic Mignogna did. That was a very funny film and we all love it. That about does it for AWA 2005.

I'm glad that we all got to meet each other at AWA and I hope that we can do this again next year.
