Digital cameras

Postby K. Ayato » Mon Sep 26, 2005 4:39 pm

Hi. I'm thinking of buying a digital camera this week. I'm so sick of having to load up my camera and getting the film messed up, or not having the numbers working right. Also, I'm tired of having "fillers" among my pictures.

So, think you could recommend a digital brand to choose from? I'd like one that's the cheapest (in price, not quality), easy to work with, and has good printed out results. Speaking of digital print outs, what's the best way to do it? Is it really a waste to go to the photo development places and have them do it? Do I need a cable to attach to the computer if I want to do it myself? Please help. I need all the info you're willing to give.

I can tell you that for still shots, Sony is pretty good. If you are going to get a good camera, be prepaired to shell out two or three hundred dollars. I have a sony cybershot. Their good on detail, and are sturdy. However, they eat batteries if they are drycell. It workes well with NiCad or NiHm recharagble batteries.

A word of caution. Don't be taken in by those 40 dollar camera offers. They are cheeply made, have terrible resolution, and will just rip you off.

i have a kodak easy share digital camera. i think it cost around $150-160. its a good quality for its price. ive never really bothered to hook it up to the computer or tried to print them myself at home on my computer because i find it easier, cheaper, and more convienent to get a memory card for the camera and take it to the printing machine-things at somewhere like wal-mart. theyre about a quarter per print and you can get just the ones you want instead of having to get a whole roll of film done.

Thanks. But I already have one now. It's a Sony (sorry, Volt) DSC-S40. 4.1 megapixels. The camera was $180 (minus the tax) and the memory stick I bought was $40 (minus tax). All in all, $237. Not a bad amount, seeing I came prepared. I'm still getting the hang of using it.
