Yoga and Meditation

Talk about anything in here.

What the quote means is that it is easy to fall into darkness if you are not careful. I can't remember the entire context....being a Christian doesn't mean that you are infallible.
And, nothing anyone else has posted goes against what I said...I just don't think I was clear because what happened to me was so horrible an experience...
Yoga is a spiritual practice....Pilates, which has poses very similar to the yogic asanas is NOT a spiritual practice. They are the same, yet different.
Plus, I didn't say that it was ABSOLUTELY not possible to separate the spiritual from the physical...I merely stated that I wasn't too sure if it really was.

What you claim to be true isnt always true. If i am upset i could say, oh cutting my wrist doesnt affect me spiritually, it only affects me physically. Just because someone makes a statement doesnt mean they know the spiritual outcome of an act. Another analogy, when you are exposed to radiation, you cant see it or feel it for a long time, until it is past the stage of no return or a stage of serious consequences. Just because you cant see it doesnt mean it isnt hurting you, in this case spiritually. Unless everyone can see the spiritual ramifications of each "innocent" act or practice, each person is vunerable to spiritual influence whether they said they are "ok" or "not". Remember Satans greatest ploy was to make himself look like he is not there. So, unless you can see spiritual activity vividly, meddling with a known spiritual activity can lead to unwanted "doors" being opened. These doors can affect more than the present.

I used to be into yoga, but I've been meaning to get back into it. Anyway, I think of it as praying, but with your entire body. And as long as your meditation is focused on God, it should be fine.

remember my analogy of radiation... just because you cant see it at work doesnt mean it is not doing something to you. Also remember " Gods word does not return void".

But yea i agree that reading your bible 24/7 is alittle excesive.

but you have to actually be listening... one of the biggest tricks we play on ourselves is that we turn our ear away from what He is saying, or ignore the pushing of the HS. And then say... on He is not talking.

So i say, if what you are doing is only stretching and no "open your mind"... in the class, than everything is a ok. But as soon as they mix in mysticism.... you are being exposed to radiation. Even if you are praying to God during that time... you will still be exposed.

I can sit in the middle of a xxx film with my eyes closed and thinking about God and still hear what is being said... and things still pass from your ears to you mind to your heart to your spirit.

im glad i asked this. apparently there are some things that i really should change in my routine. odd how you can put up walls between you and the Lord and not even realize that you're doing so.

the radiation had to do with the overall affect of anything spiritual. Not having to do with God affecting you or not affecting you.

And those who spend there whole life studying God's word and not internalizing it doesnt mean it does return void. They just dont want to listen. God is the one that said that his Word doesnt return void, not me. So, it doesnt really matter to me about those people... because God only speaks truth.
