They are a very confused band. But I still like them. I think there problem is that they do not think before they do major things. Example. They are not a Christian band. They are Christians in a rock band...if you asked Andrew he would tell you that. A while back they said they were no longer playing Christian venues...then they sign to play Cornerstone and like 5 other Christian shows. Next they got kicked off Atlantic Records...they said, sweet we don't need a label...so they sold there self produced CD online...good cd. But made them hardly any money...now they have said in the next week or so they are being signed to another label.....labels which they said they hated and did not need. Project 86 would be a lot better off if Andrew kept his mouth shut I think. He has made a butt of himself over and over again with his "deep" comments. I love Project and have since Drawing Black lines. Got my hands on there self titled too...Truthless Heroes was a huge stab at there lable...a hope they would get kicked off and did...and an ok CD. Songs To Burn Your Bridges By is great...as good I think as Drawing Black Lines. I love Project and I hope they keep on going...but they really need to make up there minds on many issues.

i would also like them to make up their minds, i didnt really know that most of that stuff happened, but i still like them, probably one of the first christian hardrock bands i listened too, at the time they were a christian band, i dont know about now, but my favorite songs are one armed man, and pipedream

As much as I hate to admit it, you're right, Shatterheart. They are confused, and it shows in their newer stuff, esp. in Truthless Heroes. Pity that they don't consider themselves Christian anymore. A shame.

I like Project 86, although they are not one of my favorite bands. I wasn't aware that they had so many cd's though...perhaps I should listen to those.

Project 86-Project 86
Project 86-Drawing Black lines
Project 86-Truthless Heroes
Project 86-Songs to burn your bridges by

I don't think they need to be a Christian band persay...as there lyrics have not changed since day one. I think they should just worry more about making good music...then having some sort of cultural impact...just my 2 cents. I plan on buying there stuff as it comes.

project 86 was one of the first hard rocker cd's ever owned, and I still love em! my favs are Steins theme and Open Hand, I think that their general sound has a unique vibe(noise) that makes them effective,

Figured I would use this thread to post...some interesting news for P86 fans. if you go to http://www.project86.com You can check out the sweet new site. While I have not yet decided how I feel about the band going back to Tooth and nail Records the new single from the band A Shadow On Me can be heard on the site...and its awesome. The cd Songs to burn your bridges by is going to be rereleased June 1st....the copies anyone bought last fall...are collectors items on ebay now lol...one went for 40 bucks the other night. Anyway the cd has been remastered and 3 new tracks have been added...so show some support for the boys and pick up the cd in stores June 1st.

I have heard a bit of Project 86 thanks in large part to Blindside and the greatest Chrstian hardcore band ever: Zao. I too never knew how many albums they had released. The site is nicely done, I also love the cool artwork very cool.

Well, if they don't see music that delves into Christian-esque lyrics I still wont' see them any wrong....though didn't they not sing about it alot in the first place. Strange to see them back on Tooth and Nail, I mean especially with how crowded that label has gotten in the past two years.

There new stuff seems to be a bit more "Christian" I think its been there focal point all along....but like everyone...peoples lives influence them....some of Projects stuff is very moving and some just seems angry...which is part of why I love there stuff...there not carbon copy stuff....If you get a chance, listen to there first self titled cd...it was quite unique. Had a song with Sonny of POD before either band was big, called six sirens.

Six Sirens is probably my favorite P86 song. So good.

I can't wait until Songs To Burn comes out....I'm gonna buy it, definitely. I also can't wait until next Friday night where I'll get to see Project 86 at Cornerstone Festival Orlando. Can't...wait...

*Bump!* Ok, I just got a chance to hear 4 new P86 songs that have leaked online from Cornerstone 05. The 4 tracks I got to hear were....

Sincerely Ichobod
Necktie Remedy
Somthing We Can't Be
Subject To Change

Ichobod....I had heard a demo before...I still don't know if I love it or hate it. P86 is changing there style a little...adding breakdowns and stuff. And those are all good and fine...but I don't think I want to see P86 changing. I won't know how good these new songs are till I hear them on CD which I can buy like September 29th or somthing. Necktie Remedy was good...I think it sounded more like old P86 then Ichobod. Somthing we can't be....is a suprisingly soft band. At Cornerstone Andrew told the crowd its not a "sock your neighbor" song. And it does seem to be a melodic softer track. My guess, they will close shows with it on tour this year. Subject to change...is nuts. It seems to be a blend of the new and the old. The vocals seem to be very much the Andrewness we all love. Anyway, I figured for those desperetly seeking new P86 would like to hear about the new stuff. It will be worth the wait folks.

Holy wow, I forgot about this thread. Personally, I LOVE Sincerely, Ichabod. I think it's just a monster song and I think it's great. I can't wait to hear the rest of the CD, but I think I'm gonna save it until the 27th.

One Armed Man is one of the few songs of theirs that I've heard but I liked it a lot. I'll probably check out their new cd.

Hmm. "Sincerely, Ichabod" wasn't too bad. But as much as I hate to say it, I think P86's best days are gone...
