I personally love the visuals and animation in this anime. It's very different, a little artsy at times, but really interesting. The storyline isn't as spectacular, and is a bit hard to follow at times, but not bad by any means. The only things I'd caution about are some questionable Christian symbolism and themes. But if you're mature in your faith and the Spirit lets you know it's okay to watch it, by all means, enjoy!

Lol. yah it was pretty good once you got into it. I figured it out before the end and felt really smart but anyway...

The only thing that bothered me was the whole>

"I'm the devil."
"No, she's the devil."
"No. He's the devil."
"No I'm definately the devil."

and all the other really bad twisted theology and stuff. but if you know what you believe and can look at that kind of stuff and just ignore it then you should be fine.

There were a few 'suggestive' scenes though. o_o; Like that one flicker... Megumi was it? >_>;

I would say it's one of the animes that has a high amount of reference or
inference to Christianity and Christian symbolism throughout. For example
Kyosuke's foster mom is a nominal Christian also there are a lot of crosses that keep on appearing throughtou the series. One episode takes place in
a mission school for girls,at one point Kyosuke compares himself to Christ.
Mostly it's a fun adventure/sci fi series. My favorite character is Maya the
Flicker that rescues Kysouke after he's "killed".Ok so it helps that Maya is
played by Kelly Sheridan in the dub.Another favorite is Komugi the slightly
wacky Mutant Rabbit Nurse(she's not really a rabbit she just dresses in
a rabbit custome).Komugi was so popular that she got spun-off into her
own OVA:Nurse Witch Komugi a parody of the Magic Girl genre.
The ending is surprising and rather poignant.
All in all a most see if you want to watch a good anime that stretches
your imagination. :thumb:

Awesome, I'm glad others have enjoyed Soul Taker! It's always struck me as an underappreciated, under-acknowledged series. I'm glad to see other fans.

The Komugi-chan series is pretty good too, though I've only seen the first volume.

Yeah,Komugi turned out to be the most popular character of the entire series.
She starts out as being the sidekick to Koysuke's dad and then she switches sides and joins Koysuke and Shiro. And who could forget all those Zombie Nurses?
Recommended for Halloween along with Betterman,Boogiepop Phantom and
any episode of Buffy,The Vampire Slayer!
