Attention EVERYONE

Postby Mr. SmartyPants » Sat Sep 17, 2005 9:07 pm

Feeling down? feeling like crap? Bored? Depressed? Tired? Confused? Hurt? anything? Got problems in your life? had a bad day?

Well theres a remedy!

It's called worshiping Jesus Christ =D

And I kid you not... WHENEVER something goes wrong, WHENEVER you have a trial or an issue or a conflict, just put your 100% on God... just FOCUS and worship him. When you worship, your perspective changes, and problems don't seem big anymore. You will begin to feel that "spiritual high" and "spiritual breakdowns and stuff"

Linksquest we telling me that you CAN have those "spiritual high" moments right at your home, whenever you want to! Not only at retreats or youth group meetings or missions trips. EVERYDAY, EVERY time you have a conflict in your life. Just WORSHIP God! Pop in some music! It is a GREAT way to motivate! Sing along! Even if you may not feel like doing so, the Bible tells us about making sacrifices. Cause you got a relationship with a LIVING God.... and if it doesn't seem like God is comming to you to aid you, that means YOU go to HIM! What I do is that at night, in bed. I usually listen to worship music on my ipod. And its just amazing.... the most amazing feeling ever..

And its better with other people! Like at retreats or missions trips and stuff... its a little slice of heaven =D People crying left and right, weeping rivers out of their eyes, people worshipping, singing, praying. It is the the MOST AMAZING THING YOU CAN EXPERIENCE IN THIS WORLD!!!

I kid you not... just WORSHIP him! dispite what your mind or body feels.... Just Worship! Let tears flow out of your eyes, break down, kneel, jump around, dance. WHATEVER! Just worship with your heart! I mean... HE IS JESUS! Why would we NOT want to worship him? The creator and savior and father of us.... that ALONE should put a smile on your face. Who CARES what others think of you! The only opinion that is important is God's opinion =D :thumb:

Nice sentiment Mr. Smartypants. And so true. That's the kind of public service announcement we need to hear more often. Thanks!

Life's too short to not worship God. Church is the people, the people can be singing into your ear from an iPod.

In that logic Your never far from a church. Image

I totally agree- wonderful, wonderful post! But just a word of wisdom I would like to add, because it's a problem I encounter alot in my prayer life... I don't know how many people share this with me, but sometimes I just can't get emotionally into my prayer. I feel like it's useless, and that I'm wasting my time... However, if you think about it, it's the times when it requires the most effort to pray that you are really saying "I love you" to God. When it's inconveniant, and you are bored out of your mind- and you still take the time to talk with God, no matter how alone you feel, and your faith really has to come into play... And then when the emotion comes back, you will be so glad you stayed with it... That's how it usually works for me. Thanks again for the inspiring words, Smarty... :) I love that we can actually talk about God here on this site! So many places don't allow it or discourage it, and it's very sad.

Usually having that "emotional feelings" requires the Holy Spirit to work through ya =D

not saying you dont ^^;; I don't really know... prayer and worship differs between different people

Great message Ryan! MC, I also have problems wit hthat sometimes. My youth pastor calls it a "desert experience" because that's how Israel felt on their way to the promised land. The thing we always have to remember is that God has given us the promised land, and even if we are in the desert now, He is with us and is guiding us. It can be hard to remember, but like you said, our faith is what takes us through, and in that experience, God strengthens our faith.

Awsome stuff Mr. SP!

One of the things that helps me worship is remebering what Jesus Christ has been to me. What he has been to me! I look back at my own Christian life and its beginnings. He deliver me! He has set me free! He has broken the chains in my life! He has been my friend! He has brought me back into balance and harmony! It has been pointed out that through the centuries men have been calling on others for help. We may lack courage and call on a great contemporary hero to help us, but nothing happens. We may lack wisdom and call on one of the great philosophers of the day. Or, lacking eloquence, we may cry, "Shakespeare, help me!" But no help comes. Yet for twenty centuries men and women in desperate plight have been calling out, "Lord Jesus Christ, help me" -- and help is given! Deliverance comes! That is why I praise him!
Live your life, love the Lord, and don't forget to laugh...

Thank you so much for that.

And, MourningCloak, I don't know if this applies to everyone, or even people besides me, but sometimes I try journalling my prayers. Writing as I pray helps me to stay focused on what I'm doing, and it helps me to order my thoughts better, too.

Right now, I feel like the twisted problems in my life are more important. When I'm very mad or shocked I have a lot of trouble trying to think about God. I try but it all feels so insignificant and makes me feel empty.

I hate feeling like this. When horrid things happen like they did today, the universe revolves around those things, and I don't know what to do to change it.

It's 2 am and I haven't slept at all. I can't sleep. I don't know if I even want to sleep.

I guess it's not that hard to be cheered up when you have a decent relationship with God. Well I don't have that and I don't know how to get it. Everybody's different and not everything works for people.

I guess right now, the key word describing me is lost .

So your sentiment was awesome, MSP and I'm sure you're right, and I know that very well but I don't feel it.

[BTW is 1-800-GOD a real number, and if so, what is it?]

You say that "I guess it's not that hard to be cheered up when you have a decent relationship with God. Well I don't have that and I don't know how to get it." Spiritual highs aren't always in direct correlation with the quality of your relationship with God. When I was in junior high people thought that I had the maturity of an adult, and my hope is that I have a good relationship with God. However, I have never had a spiritual high. When you say that "everybody's different and not everything works for people," you are quite right. For example, I am the more logical type who isn't prone to emotional outbursts. I think that spiritual highs are fine and dandy, but God's just never given me one as of yet. I know plenty of awesome Christians who have never had a spiritual high. That's just how God made them.

"[BTW is 1-800-GOD a real number, and if so, what is it?]"
I dislike pat answers, but in this case the best solution is indeed prayer. We may not always be able to hear God's response immediately or easily, but God hears our prayers and answers (mind you, not always like we would like, but he knows what's best).

I will be praying for you.
