I always see posts on people saying "I never knew it was an anime until later!"
Here's on I NEVER would have thought was an anime... until I randomly browsed Anime New Network.

Maya the Bee:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1415

Back in my YTV days I would watch this almost every mornind and I can still remember the theme song :/ "Maaaaaaaya! Maya the bee!" with the tune and everything... never would've thought it was anime :/

Anyone else have this look familiar to you? It was similar to Bugs Life cause it was about bees and grasshoppers... *sigh* grasshoppers seem to be the enemy in all those movies.

Oro?
Ive never even heard of this show ... but i relate to the feeling.
Who remembers Super Book!?
anime
The loving, caring, and slightly bad-influencing father of 1balloonpopper and khakibluesocks!!!
Also I'm not sure how -_-' but somehow I am the Master and Father of Spectro-King according to his signature ... but hey I'm up for having a minion ... so jump stupid ... I'll have him keeeeel you
 Evil child of Fantasy Dreamer and Dark Disturbed Grandchild of Cephas VII
On a quest to adopt Cephas
 WACKY BANANA!!! ROCKER!!! glomp of DOOM!!!
Ive noticed something interesting, when a place is really amazing people say it must be seen to believed ... but the most amazing place ever must be believed to be seen.

I could easily say that about Astroboy, Hello Kitty and The Little Prince. ^_^;

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

I remember Super Book! I practically grew up watching it! I didn't realize it was an anime until about 3 years ago. Man, was I slow!
K. Ayato: What happens if you press the small red button?

*Explosion goes off in the movie*

mechana2015: Does that answer your question?

K. Ayato: Perfectly.

I remember Superbook. Didn't it have some mutant Banpei-kun and a flying house?

The great thing about the ANN is that if you aren't certain if something is anime
or not they have a section in their enclyopedia called:Related But Not Anime.

Yeah, and there were many live action movies and tv series that became anime or manga too... though many never made it here.

It took me forever to find out that Superbook and The Flyinghouse were anime. And a movie called Scamper the Penguin...That movie shaped my life!

Personally the one live action movie based on an anime that I'd like to see is
Boogiepop And Friends since it's supposed to be the prequel to Boogeipop Phantom.

I watched that, Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics, Superbook, Flying House, Lil' Bits, and the Noozles when I was a child. I had no idea any of them were anime until a couple of years ago.
