I've thought about this too. I have some rl friends (in other words, ones I know outside the internet) on here, plus my brother, even if he rarely posts, so there would be peole to let you know if I fell off a building. <.< >.>

But, yeah, I wonder about some of the others too... Like Haibane Shadsie. Or lonelyone. Or even Sunako, who hasn't been gone all that long. I hope they're okay.

this reminds me of lpunderground
last year a member commited suicide and her friend who was also a member told everyone, but what if she hadnt of been a member? i realised that we would have just gone on with life thinking that her membership had ran out or something.

It is a concept which I have pondered - what would happen to friends I have here if I were to suddenly die. I think that I shall be leaving some sort of general instructions for my parents as to what to do in that event. Not a real will. I mean, I have little of any real value. But I would not want people on here who are some of my best friends (AnimeHeretic, ChristianRonin, Sakura15, and Faithfighter. No particular order.) to think I just up and left. I suppose that my younger brother, knowing how much time I spend on here, might realize that he should tell you all. But I would rather not leave that to chance.

awwwww... I hope that never happens ST! :(

hopefully, by the time I die.. I will be well over anime and visiting forums and all that jazz.. I know EVENTUALLY... I will stop coming here...but I don't see that in the near future (knocks on wood)

however, with such a recent event.. I am not sure about life... I mean it is so very fragile.. ya know?

I suppose I will tell my sister to try to post something...or maybe mythmaster...because my family gets irratated that I spend so much time on here...^^; so they probably wouldn't.. I too, would want my BF's on here to know...(basically the same as ST, including ST, and Mythmaster would most likely already know...)

I've wondered about this, and I don't want to repeat anything that has already been said.

But perhaps, once I die, one of my friends or kin could take over my screen name for me. Like, "Ingemar II." It could be a dynasty, and a total blast!

lol.
Does that mean my friend would be Eriana II?
I think if a member was missing for a long time I might notice and ask everybody, then we could summon up a search party through siblings of the families of people who are missing and have them notify everyone here. I hope people would realize I was gone. I know I would realize if one of my friends on here was gone because I would just get a bad feeling about it. The Lord would tell me I believe and that way I could at least pay that person their respects.

I'd take on the Ingemar legacy...I wonder if I'd have a big enough follwing to get a That Dude 2.0 if I die. It is strange how many of us (including me) have wondered about other members and whatnot dying here.

No, this is how it works.

Ingemar's Successor? wrote:Greetings, CAA. Ingemar died today. He suffered massive blood loss when he walked through a plate glass window. I am now using his CAA account. Despite the horrid news, he requested that you all treat me the way you treated him. He also asked that when I, his successor, dies, that you treat all following successors the way you treated the last. Now that this terrible thing is behind us, let us watch with glee the thrilling conclusion of the 5th Annual CAA Tournament.

So "Ingemar II" is really an unofficial monicker.

I thought it would be funny if I was hospitalized and Shoorajin ended up being one of the doctors... I don't know if he's in that type of field now though.

Isn't he in pediatrics?
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I think that thought of "How will my friends know if something happens to me?" is common. The connection to those people can be very vulnerable-- it's all through online communication, completely voluntary, and there's no physical way to just check on them and be sure they're ok. If something happens to someone with such distance, there's nothing you can really do, and that's scary.

There are a few online friends who I've exchanged phone numbers with. One person who I talk with used to be an active member of CAA. I think that he would mention it to someone who still posts here over IMs or something... Because if anything happened to him, I'd want to let others know. I'm not terribly active here, but still... a few people know me and I consider some of you friends. :)

I'm also hoping that a parent or family member would check my cell phones and call the numbers stored there. And not just online friends, but other long-distance friends, like people I knew in high school.

Word would get around, I think. If I'm not online for a couple weeks, I'd expect a phone call to see if I'm ok. ^^; At the very least, a ton of e-mail to my cell phone.

And the way it works, most of my friends online know each other, either directly or through someone else. Like 2 degrees of seperation at most...

But I have often considered compiling a list of all of my log-in info for various messengers and message boards, in case something were to happen. <_<

its up to sakura's wings to inform the CAAer's if something happened where i couldn't tell you guys myself. and vice versa i suppose unless she has other friends up here that i don't know about. but lets hope and pray we never need to use that option.

 Thank-you, Myoti, Pepsi is all over my keyboard now. XD

Back on topic, I've wondered what would happen if I did die or got really sick and had no way of letting anyone who lived a ways away from me know. =/ I have a couple IRL friends on CAA, though they never post, so I guess maybe they would mention it...

XD; But that's something I'd rather not think about.

Hey Ive got an idea. If one of us dies, then if God will let us why dont we try to make a post from heaven. That would totally awesome if we had a ghost thread popup, but that probably would never happen, and I probably need to go lie down before I hurt myself.

This is actually something that really worried me before I just recently came back. On Onerock I have a lot of friends who live in New Orleans. When I heard about all the people trapped in there, and all those who had died, I was worried about coming online and finding out that some of them could be dead. Praise be to Jesus that all of them are accounted for.
