Houseplants?

Postby Alice » Thu Sep 15, 2005 4:19 pm

Do you have houseplants?

I would have a ton if I didn't have pets. As it is I only have two: some of that fancy bamboo you keep in water, and a potted palm tree. :D

Hmm. You should cut out every other word = You cut every word. That works.

Anyway, I have an African violet. Despite me watering it "sporadically" it has flourished in the sill over the sink.

Do plastic ones count? We got a few of those :)

I believe we have a few real ones, though my cat Xev likes to knock down all the plants to chew or play in it. So we usually end up putting them outside anyways.

I have a Ton of houseplants all around. I try to remember to water them but because they're always in the sun they perk up a lot. I don't have any plastic ones though, that would just seem a little tacky to me. I guess it all depends on the house you have.

My mom actually owns them. I just water them. :eyeroll: African violets, christmas cactus, some ferns, some tomatos outside, a few vinelike plants, a geranium, and some I don't even know what they are.

Lol! I love your avatar Inkhana! I don't have any plants in my bedroom because I have a kitty who would love to get at it, but my mom has them scattered on practically every window sill in the house. A while ago my dog broke the vase that held a huge plant so we had to throw every piece away. Kind of a shame but I never liked that plant anyway. ^^;;;

Maybe you can have one of yours friends bring you one if they don't mind dirt.

Maybe... But I'd just have to tote it back during fall break, and then Christmass break... But it would be nice, esp. during the winter when there is nothing green outside.

It would bring some life into it, yes. I would have it done, maybe you could switch around with friends, one comes and drops it off and then later the other comes and takes it away and then keeps alternating. You could put a cardboard box in the car and place the plant inside. I would buckle a seatbelt over it and tighten it and then maybe it would stay and be dirt free.

I have 3 plants safely out of comets way. I have a ficus I forget to water but it's 2 years old. I named it Kazuma. Then I have some mysterious plant my mom bought me when i had surgury that I named Pheonex because it has a yellow and red part on it that reminded me of fire. And then i have some fancy bamboo that I didn't name yet. heh.

I have a houseplant! I love it because it's so easy to take care of. And it will climb or hang down from a basket nicely :D I think it's called "pothos". They're pretty common around here (I see them in restaurants all the time)

I'd like to get more houseplants though. They just look so pretty :3

I wish I had a bamboo plant. I heard that they are very beautiful when they grow. I know where to get them and might buy one once I'm finished remodeling my bedroom.

True.
Plants are nice for decoration and I like watching grow as time goes on. I think its amazing and special how God created everything, plants that grow, grass, trees, everything is just so amazing to me. I don't know what I would do without all of it. And plus most plants spread buds and give off a sweet scent which makes me even happier. ^_~*

I have several houseplants, including a hibiscus that is constantly shedding leaves and never blossoms. I just don't have the heart to get rid of it. I have no pets though. Pets are a joy but take so much more responsibility and time than houseplants (at least the type of pet I would want--dog ^___^).
