Well, the Bible pretty strictly speaks about homosexuality. Apparently, you know what it says.

As far as reading Yaoi manga, I have to say to stay away from it. Personally, I can't imagine that the devil wouldn't love getting his toe in the door of your soul when you open yourself to that kind of thing. I mean, if we come to enjoy the presentation of homosexual relationships in manga, there's not really any chance that we're seeing things the way God sees them. That can't be right.

Furthermore, just be aware that Yaoi manga becomes addictions in many people. I can't count the number of people who have gotten hooked on the stuff before they even knew how it happened.

In summation, flee it like the plague.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Sooo. . . I guess you know what you need to do.

Do you have any of this stuff in your house? On your computer?

Thought you were a troll at first. Sorry about that. Um... I don't really know much about yaoi because I've never had an attraction to it, but reading the Bible more and talking to God about it can help. Also talking to a trusted friend about it, someone who can hold you accountable and help you along the way.
Its good to see that you realise it doesn't line up with what God wants for you. That's a big step. Now throw out the offending mangas and anything that feeds the addiction.
I'll be praying for you.

God Bless,

Christian

Besides what's stated in the bible, I despise what've I seen of it, especially those done with famous characters (such as Harry and Draco or Luffy and Zoro).

It's downright nasty.

You will also have to fight within your mind as well, and considering how strong an addiction is (my problem with hentai was easily solved since I went cold turkey by choice) will be how strong the temptation will be. I still get weird thoughts that are to be bluntly said pornographic and I can find myself dwelling in them if I'm not careful, but they are controllable.

The mind is the most important battlefield you will face... cleanse your domain and then strive to cleanse your mind.

The trash can is your greatest friend when it comes to an addiction. Destroy all physical traces of the temptation, pray that God will suppress the mental temptations, and remember that because you are a Child of God, Satan CANNOT control you without you letting him first.

EDIT: Same here, same here (well except for the obvious gender difference)... Sex is his greatest temptation. It is alluring and so easy to get really. It is the greatest corrupter of a human than anything else though. It clings once it grabs hold and changes every aspect a person has on themselves and the world around them.

I concur with what everyone else is saying- dump the trash. To put it simply, t's garbage that will rot your mind. The Bible says that we are to think on what is pure. What you are addicted to is in no way pure, so your best bet is to get rid of all of it and start filling your mind with more uplifting things! ;) :thumb:
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

I hate to say this but from my personal experience, quite a number of yaoi titles involve violent and forced sex (especially doujinshis). That's no fun so I decided to trash it.

If you're attracted to it for the pretty images, trust me, you can get art just as pretty without the yaoi element elsewhere so there's no love loss in pressing that delete button. It was a difficult decision to throw away those pretty pics but I have no regrets. Last time I checked, I've been doing really well without yaoi in my life. >^^<

this is something i personally struggle with... i just dont do it.

I really like yaoi but i can not do it no matter what because it really trashes your spiritual walk!!! Whenever i want or wanted to look at it... i just have to get off the computer and read my bible. You dont know how yaoi, porn, and henti can affect more than just yourself and your direct situation!!!

My suggestion from one who fights the same battle. Trash it all, like everyone is saying. Get an accountability partner [of your gender]. "Post-it" verses about your computer ... about guarding your heart... and other verses that you find helpful. And if you can not get on the comp or go to a book store without being drawn to yaoi... stay off the computer until you have got past this. And dont go to any bookstore that might or has those kinda stuff!!!! It helps me. Lastly, make the choice to not do it no matter what. :thumb:

I've never actually read yaoi, but I've definitely been tempted. I'd be willing to bet that if I had never found CAA that I would have been addicted to it by now. God's done a great thing to place this site in my life ^^

And now I'll agree with everyone here. Trash it and get rid of it so that you can't get it back. I went through an entirely unrelated situation and I cracked hundreds of CDs so I couldn't be tempted to take them out of the trash can and use them again.

Even if you are hesitant in wanting to get rid of the yaoi that you have, DELETE IT! Do not argue with yourself. Because when you're doing that you're trying to compromise.... and think things like "Oh ill cut the addiction next time".... because with that mindset... you never will

The first step to breaking the addiction is to admit you have the problem, and get RID of it without questioning yourself, and to not go back that path

I will attest to what yaoi can do to a person. My first con was ohayocon and the yaoi lovers where out in fury. If something is bad enough to make a person yell at guys to make out who are just walking buy or wave sign wanting yaoi done in front of them, there is something seriously wrong... just as porn and hentai can trash a males view of women yaoi can trash a womens view of men. I dont know about you but i dont like being thought of and looked at as a way to get someones jollies by them fantisizing and pushing me or any other guy to go for the homosexuality.

I have heard testimonies of girls telling there boyfreinds that they could never be as good as the yaoi and if they wanted to stay that they should make with the yaoi (Mave i dont remeber exactly how he had put it and the site has been down forever so i cant quote it word for word)

I used to think of yaoi lovers (and a lot of female anime lovers for a while afterwords due to how ticked i was) as scum and a disease after ohayocon but with time and a con of finding nice people who werent into the filth i have calmed down and realized that hate doesnt make it right.

this is naturally most guys point of view on it so think what you want but its always good to see the other side of the picture. to see how the gender that is being degraded feels

It intrigues people, makes them wonder if they can really get into it. And all things sexual are addictive, so definately stay away from it. We've had members loose control and get banned because they tried to support these things and make it sound like there's nothing wrong with it.

What part of "Thou shall not lay with a man as you do with a woman" don't people understand.

Gay Community: Yeah but... but... i have this feeling... deep inside.... I have to follow it. If you feel a certain way, it's who you are...
VOlt: If i followed my inner feeling, i'd be in jail. I can't even begin to count the billions of times I've be tempted to do something that society doesn't accept. Everything from killing an enemy to wanting to die. If we all followed our silly 5 min. fantasies they'd turn into full blown obsessions.

Wanting to be unique or different for the sake of experiencing the excitement of "Forbidden Love" is just foolish. There's a reason for the Family structure, there's a reason why man and wife make a couple, and there's a reason why kids need these types of hetero-sexual parents.

There's no way around it. Man and Woman is the way it's been, and Man & Woman is the way it will always be. No use going against it.

I agree!!

I've been there Tokya_eve, and I'll pray for you. It's like it kills your spirit. Poison, pure poison.

But it CAN be beaten, praise God forever, and He will help you, as He has helped me!

Please do NOT give up. You are fighting for your spiritual life and health.

I'm praying for you!

Willpower doesn't solve the problem - willpower keeps the problem from making more problems. You have to use prudence and sense to know not to do things that will turn around and hurt you or that will hurt others, but that won't change your heart.

The thing is, willpower is a stopgap measure. It's like holding a car together with duct tape - eventually, the tape will break, but it might hold long enough to get to a real mechanic.

The key to really kicking an addiction for good, especially a psychological addiction like this, is to spend time with God, and, as you spend time with Him, your head starts to clear. You start to realize more and more that you aren't who you were - that your heart has changed. You realize that when Jesus died on the cross 2000 years ago, you died with him, and that when he was raised from death, you were raised with him - that all your sins died with him, and his righteousness was raised in you. You realize that you aren't a sinner, but a saint - and that the reason you thought you wanted to do this and that was simply that you didn't know how your heart had changed in that area.

Self-knowledge is a difficult area, and it does not happen overnight, so don't expect it do, and don't be discouraged when it doesn't. If God was to transform you entirely all at once, you wouldn't be able to survive it. He works slowly in order to be gentle on you, but He does not stop even if it doesn't look like He's doing anything. (Hey, you can't always see your computer working, either. Some things are like that.)

Spend time with God and let Him cleanse your thoughts as you know Him more and more. Sin is the opposite of holiness, but holiness is not some code of behaviour, it is a person. God.

The Law is not something that you can keep on your own - nor is it something that you "now have the power to obey". It is a description. A description so impossibly precise that it has only ever matched the behaviour of one person - God. And guess whose heart God gave you when He raised you in christ.
The cake used to be a lie like you, but then it took a portal to the deception core.
