I use the Lord's prayer as an outline or guide on how I pray. ( I don't acutally recite it)
Matthew 6:9-15
“This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11Give us today our daily bread. 12Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one 14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
I give thanks to God and for everything He has given me... I pray for others, pray that God help me forgive others and I pray for God to forgive me.
If we only pray for ouselves then it's quite selfish of us. I make it a personal thing... To me prayer is anything that gives thanks to the Lord or asks for help for either yourself and/or others. And as long as you mean it n your heart, then that's all that counts. No special or right way to go about it.
