Super Book and Flying House

Postby JezusBoy » Sat Aug 27, 2005 2:50 pm

Does Anyone remember Super Book and The Flying House? They are one of the first Christian Animes. I used to watch them when I was little. I almost memorized every VHS I had. I loved them. Anyone else remember?

I've heard of them, but never seen them. Wonder if they were ever screened in Australia? Got any pics from the show or a website or something for us to have a look at? Thanks!

I remember both of those shows as well. They were both the first and only christian animes that i'm aware of. I don't know for sure, but i think that the voice that was used for chris on Superbook was the same voice used for Ash in the Pokemon cartoons. It was a noble effort, but lost popularity and so died out. But it was cool while they lasted

When I was a kid, my brother and I watched these. We loved them. ^__^

I watched them every chance I got. They aired on the Chritstian station. TCT ( Total Christian Televison) I never realized until I was like 16 or 17 that they were anime, but then I thought back and remebered how it was drawn and the style used.

Definatly some freakin awesome anime.
The Straight and Narrow

I chose to walk the straight and narrow road, but one day I lost balance and fell off it. I had fallen onto some sharp rocks and injured myself. There were people passing by who would merely stare at me, and then keep walking. Thoughts of worthlessness entered into my mind, and as I chose to believe the lies, my wounds grew worse. I was so overcome with grief that I nearly gave up... but then a man walked up to me and stopped. Without saying a word, he started to wrap my wounds, he gave me some water, and then lifted me up and embraced me. He then whispered these words into my ear, "I love you my child." As he said those words I could feel all the worthlessness and despair fall away. He then held out his hands. They had huge holes in them. He then said, "Walk with me." I then took his hand and we walked together. Every now and then I would fall from the road, but no matter where I fell, he was always there to pick me up and tell me that He loved me.

I never put that together. Your right I think Chris' and Ash's voice actors are one in the same. That's so cool. Might be another reason I was attracted to pokemon. Hmmmmmmmmm.........

Speaking of Christian anime, did anyone ever watch "In the Beginning"? I used to watch EWTN alot growing up, and it was one of my favorite shows. That's something that got me interested in anime in the first place...

Vash: In the end...he just couldn't kill a man in cold blood. His daughter's murder goes unpunished. Call him weak, but...it saved both of us.

Yeah, I've seen just about every episode of both! I watched them every Saturday morning. I preferred Superbook over Flying House though. Gizmo was really funny.

My favorite Superbook episode was the one where Chris's mom (I think) was going to have a baby. She announced it and the dad was like, "You're gonna' have a...what?" Oh that was so funny!!

I never watched The Flying House as much as I did Superbook. Flying House I found out about and watched much later.
