When you think about your user name...does it fit your gender?

Talk about anything in here.

A Rant...

Postby Zane » Mon Sep 05, 2005 7:23 am

If you keep on getting mistakend for a bloke or a chick, turn your little gender thingy on for crying out loud,.... unless it doesn't bother you of course, then please do continue. Who cares if we know that your a boy or a girl? And who cares if we don't?

I just don't get it why people feel that by not showing their gender, their point of view on a matter will be viewed any differently then if they had showed their gender. Your gender doesn't matter, unless it is a gender specific thread.
And if people do dismiss your opinion on the bases of your gender, then its their fault, loss and stupidty, not yours.

I think gender mix ups are hilarious, especially on forums with no gender symbol beside the name (and it happens over and over  ).

And I agree that avatars are a big cause of gender mix ups.

I don't think 'warrior' sounds very feminine...

Hehehe! Ashley is the MAN that Melanie marries, and Scarlett is in love with. Cliff notes rock. XD

Anyways, people usually have to ask if I'm a girl, even though Kaoru IS infact a girl's name, and my avi is a girl , too. I also use the gender thing, so hopefully everyone knows I'm a girl! XD That usually happens in the chat anyways, though, so haha. X3

Ahhh, I see now. Maybe I should read the book or see the movie sometime. Anyways. Back on Topic. No one has ever confused me for a man. Online.

My name sounds feminine. Not many guys use ookami in their names. and not many guys names end with an a either. Only one comes to mind. Bakura from yugioh. And the fact that four out of the seven avatars ive chosen have been female probably doesnt help either. I've been mistaken for a girl alot either because of my username or avatar or both.

Well, obviously mine fits! oro! GIRL! I made sure of that from the start. It might get embarrassing otherwise.....

Not to tell you what your name "should" be, oro!girl7, but I think it would be pretty cool to see someone whose screen name was just

"oro!"

I was actually going to go with oro!, but i thought it would be too short and since I sometimes talk like a guy, kinda bad. Maybe I can change it...can't we just ask?

Considering the vast amount of times I am mistaken for a girl online (even in situations where my avatar isn't noticed, such as the chat), I'll have to say it probably doesn't...but I'm not going to change it.

I've been mistaken for a guy on the forums twice ... which boggles my mind. And slightly off topic, but you could have a name like sparklingpeachblossoms on xbox live and you'd still get called a guy. I thought hoodiegypsy sounded pretty girlish, (and my icon and armor are pink) but it was to no avail ...

But anyway, back on topic. I think Gypsy is pretty much a girl name.
