Bummer. I knew he was in poor health...but I did not know he was close to death. Hopefully President Bush finds a good replacement for him.

Oh, no! How terrible! I will be praying for his family and for the president, that he will find someone who will be as solid and conservative a judge as Rhenquist.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I tip my hat and wish him a found farewell... "May a good man of God go in peace to the place which is his eternal home." In found and loving memory for all the good he brought to my country.... I thank him.
Live your life, love the Lord, and don't forget to laugh...

Now there are two positions to fill.Personally I would perfer someone like
Clarence Thomas to replace Rehnquist but that is as likely as Inuyasha getting
an Emmy Award.

Please, don't take this as mocking you...cause thats not my goal. But you really should look into the Supreme Court. They are pretty important in society.

Hmm. Check this out.

http://www.usscplus.com/info/

That is a good one for BIOs of the Judges. (Sanda Day O' Conner just stepped down, and Rhenquist passed away so 2 new ones will be in soon..appointed by President Bush)

This is a good one for the stuff done in Rhenquists tenure.

Cracky, responses like that are not going to help anyone. Regardless of our political stances, we need to be respectful of our brothers and sisters; comments like that are just going to stir up more strife and bring unnecessary division to this place of peace. So, to you and anyone else who wants to respond in kind, knock it off and be nice.

Here is an idea, when a mod politly asks you somthing. Listen. I belive what she meant, was making leftist liberal slanting comments like yours...would only cause a debate. Which, they would. Tossing a little canned thing on the end of a rude comment, like "God bless" is like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound. Should you like to argue this point further, do so via PM. Otherwise, posts will be deleted and strikes will be awarded.

He was a man dedicated to his post, that's for sure. Regardless of your opinions, pray for the president and the Senate to act wisely and do what is right and good for our country.

Rehnquist--RIP.
To all, life thou givest, to both great and small.
In all life, thou livest, the true life of all.
We blossom and flourish as leaves on a tree
And wither and perish, but naught changeth thee.

Hm. I won't comment on Cracky, but I will say that it's too bad that Rehnquist had to die with thyroid cancer. That's never a good thing, but at least President Bush can put someone good in his place.

I was very unhappy when I saw on the news he had passed. He was exactly the kind of person we needed on the Supreme Court. I think it was a good idea from a time saving point of view to nominate Roberts (is that his name? I can't believe I just pulled a blank on his name) to the role of Chief Justice since he has already been examined with a microscope by Congress (this is a good thing). Slightly off topic, my friends and I were noting what has happened to Bush over the length of his administration, and I have to say, the man has had near EVERYTHING happen to him. He's a tough guy.

How funny Grammarian. I had that at first, and edited everywhere I had it when I saw it spelled different on Foxnews.com. I see now they fixed it. So I blame them for my typo. ^^

Apologies. I won't do that again.
